Hey Guys,

P1040493-2.jpg

I got myself a reverse Strat neck and alder body from Musikraft.
It's got the EVH profile, which is really chunky, a 12" radius, 6000 frets, Perloid dots, R2 nut.

While I decide what color to get the body painted, I put the neck on my old Warmoth swamp ash body, which I painted very badly without filler or clear coat many years ago haha. There's a Duncan JB in the bridge, which pairs very well with the bright nature of that neck. Compared to my 72 Strat, which sounds more mellow, it's way stiffer and brighter, which pairs perfectly with my Brown Sound captures.

Here's how it sounds with my Quad Cortex recreation of the classic Brown Sound setup

I went with a very minimalistic configuration for the body... Only bridge humbucker and Floyd Rose.
It feels very resonant and light, so I'm super curious how it will sound compared to the swamp ash body!
I'll probably go with a metallic red or blue finish, candy apple red being my current favorite option.

How was the fretwork out of the box?

It sounds and looks great! I'd say grab another neck so you can have two killer guitars. Do you have those captures on your Cortex Cloud? I'd love to check them out on my QC.

Outstanding choice Mr. Lenz!!!
hahah, purple sparkle would be a vibe as well, but probably not for me...

How was the fretwork out of the box?
I did have to file the fretends a bit because they were quite sharp.

Thanks! Yeah, I've got them available on my profile/captures website Lenzprofiles.com

It looks amazing! Nicely done! Love the neck on it!
Cheers!

My goodness DATS alot of birdseye! Beautiful neck there Eddy! I love my .84/.97" 12" radius, 6100 jumbos Musikraft Franky neck, plays great!:2thumbsup:

I also have a Musikraft .87"/95" 12" radius neck, Pao Ferro, 6100 jumbos on my Nuno guitar and the fret ends were perfect from Musikraft with no sprout. In the winter my Birchwood Casey sealed Franky neck will get a bit of fret sprout sometime where I want to file them down. In the summer they are fine.

I've tried 6000 extra jumbos before and it felt like I was playing a scalloped neck, I immediately went back to my trusty 6100 Jumbos!

Nice! I've got the 6000s on my 72 and CS Strat as well. Got 6100 on one of my ESPs and don't like them as much.

I tried to like them but I ended up having my luthier refret again with 6100's, he wasn't too pleased I had to pay one more time. ;) It's just what I have been playing since I was 14 years old and I just couldn't adapt and get used to them, even though I thought the extra fret life would be great to have versus the 6100 my master plan did not work out.

Nice tone -- nice guitar -- nice everything!

Looks cool. What made you get the maple cap neck vs a 1 piece neck?

What value pot are you using with the JB?
