NSD - Eminence Karnivores!!

Karnivores came in today! Totally surprise. I never got any shipping notifications, but this morning I got a notification from UPS about an OFD package from Eminence. It could be only one thing!! Well...4 things, I guess haha.

I loaded 2 of them in place of the Redbacks in my Mesa OS cab. These things are cool as shit! They sound super aggressive and tight. Lots of saturation. More balanced than the bigness that the RBs have. Seems weird not having RBs, since those are my initials haha. Anyway...Here are some initial clips. Relatively low volume since it's 230 AM lol.

Congrats On improving your tone . Im so fickle about cabs and speakers . I never like other speakers . I only like v30s . So I find this interesting . I want to like other speakers I just always revert back to v30s

I’ve always gone back to V30’s or a V30/GB mix, but these sound very interesting.
Lots of people hate V30’s but they consistently deliver what seems to matter most to my ears in a mix. I think after awhile we get used to something and it becomes familiar, so it’s less of a variable in the equation, but more of what you think you like might be enough to get you out of old habits.

I am digging these quite a bit. I was never really a fan of V30s, but they always seem to make certain things easier. I actually only recently started using them regularly...maybe 3-4 years ago.

I think I will put the quad in this OS cab and bring my traditional cab home with 2003 V30s to compare against. But tentatively, I am digging these a lot more than V30s...which, like I said, I never really liked anyway haha.
 
Yeah, sounds great and mixes well with the V30 as well. Probably the best sounding Eminence clip I've ever heard!

I used Eminence Legends for years. I think they pair great with Peaveys, but I hadn't like them with Mesas or EVH stuff as much. At some point I switched over to Mesa cabs and the V30s they came with. I don't really like them on their own, but they blend well with something like a Redback.

Anyway, these are awesome. I am going to load the quad in the Mesa cab here, shortly, and try the Mark V through it. So far, just the EVH 100S. And I did some recording with them and my other guitar players Powerball 2 today. Sounded absolutely monstrous. So tight and aggressive. Looking forward to the Mark V.
 
Sounds great to me! Very aggressive, but I dont hear the annoying fizzy thing Celestions have.

I have been kind of waiting for these. I got a pair of Swamp Thangs I like, but couldn't decide if I wanted more, something different like the DV-77, or wait for these.

It's funny because Kohle says they aren't really designed after anything. Meanwhile, it's more similar to V30s than any of the V30s "clones" I've tried.

What I hear by comparison...they don't have that high end fizzy thing that V30s have. Absolutely. The high end is a bit smoother, but still extremely aggressive. The low end is somehow bigger, but equally as tight.

The Mark V sounds great with them, too. Really really liking these a lot. Much better with a quad in the cab than split with V30s. I will likely buy another quad for another one of my cabs.
 
Updated OP with a new pic of the quad installed in my Mesa OS cab. Too bad you can't see them, because they look really great, too haha.

I didn't realize that this was a limited edition preorder thing. They're sold out. I might try the IR pack though.
