NSD - Eminence Karnivores!!

Karnivores came in today! Totally surprise. I never got any shipping notifications, but this morning I got a notification from UPS about an OFD package from Eminence. It could be only one thing!! Well...4 things, I guess haha.

I loaded 2 of them in place of the Redbacks in my Mesa OS cab. These things are cool as shit! They sound super aggressive and tight. Lots of saturation. More balanced than the bigness that the RBs have. Seems weird not having RBs, since those are my initials haha. Anyway...Here are some initial clips. Relatively low volume since it's 230 AM lol.

In these clips I actually like them more than V30s and liked either of the isolated tracks more than the X pattern mixed with V30s as well.

What a great speaker choice. Sounds killer.

Congrats On improving your tone . Im so fickle about cabs and speakers . I never like other speakers . I only like v30s . So I find this interesting . I want to like other speakers I just always revert back to v30s

I’ve always gone back to V30’s or a V30/GB mix, but these sound very interesting.
Lots of people hate V30’s but they consistently deliver what seems to matter most to my ears in a mix. I think after awhile we get used to something and it becomes familiar, so it’s less of a variable in the equation, but more of what you think you like might be enough to get you out of old habits.

I am digging these quite a bit. I was never really a fan of V30s, but they always seem to make certain things easier. I actually only recently started using them regularly...maybe 3-4 years ago.

I think I will put the quad in this OS cab and bring my traditional cab home with 2003 V30s to compare against. But tentatively, I am digging these a lot more than V30s...which, like I said, I never really liked anyway haha.
