A record low level of Americans drink, and a majority now say alcohol is bad for your health

Was that the 3rd or 4th time in SATOP ? Speaking from experience.
Only ever did it once. Got my last DWI the night The Rams won the superbowl. What was that 2000. I haven't drank and drove since. In fact I barely drink at all now.

I also learned that out of a 12 oz beer, a typical highball and a glass of wine, the wine has more alcohol.

I do not agree.
But you all can pick at it all you want. There is far too much drunk driving out there and it is our culture who is to blame.
Well brother, you are allowed your opinion, but being a scientific minded guy you can't dispute known facts. The three things that affect your BAC and your cognitive ability are weight, the amount of alcohol and time. As a Class A the legal limit for me is half of what it is for anyone else. Regardless of whether I am in a commercial vehicle or not. That means .04 for me. One beer an hour will keep me under that limit. I know this for a fact. Most people my weight could drink 2 beers an hour and be ok. That said, I can't recall the last time I drank more than one Guinness in a day. Usually a 6 pack lasts me a month or more. And as I said, I haven't drove after drinking in about 25 years. Haven't smoked weed in 14 years. Dropped acid a couple times maybe 10 years or so ago and the old lady and I split a quarter gram of blow for a Primus concert sometime around 2003-2004. Other than that, one cup of coffee a day, a lot of iced tea and a bunch of cigarettes are the extent of my self inflicted drug intake.

.04 for me too

Please, tell me more, haha.
Okay. The Primus concert was great. I've seen Claypool about 10 times and it's always great. I think it must have been a gram though because it did last us through the whole concert and I fucked the shit out of her in the car in the parking lot.

The acid was okay, but nothing like the stuff I used to sell when I was young. I had a hookup with some "Rainbow family" dudes, so essentially I was getting my acid straight from the Grateful Dead. None of this strychnine and speed bullshit the kids today think is acid.

Science is great, however it has very little to do with the decisions people make then they are out drinking. If you think most people have studied the effect of alcohol over time on their bodies and have a set limit and schedule to their drinking based on scientific data, then I guess we can agree to disagree.
I think most people just think ā€œeh, I’m ok to driveā€ without any science behind it, not to mention a side effect of alcohol is poor decision making.

Nope, retard. You sure didn’t. Try again

Ok here is my first post.

ā€œI’m glad to see drinking numbers down. Too many boneheads that think it’s cool to drive home after having a few. Selfish pricksā€

Now you try again and tell me that my post wasn’t about drinking and driving…. lol fucking dope

It’s very, VERY difficult to imagine a typical adult being significantly impaired by a single beer dude.

Decisions they make when they’re out drinking doesn’t really have anything to do with the conversation we’re having about science as it relates to your assumption about drinking a single beer.

Just as a reminder I said that people who think it’s ok after ā€œhaving a fewā€ are selfish. I never said if you go out and have a single drink you shouldn’t go near a car.
It’s honesty surprising anyone can disagree with this, even you guys lol

Clearly I don't disagree with it. I simply said it depends on the person and how much time elapses after a beer ( or two) as to whether or not someone is impaired. I barely drink and I don't drive after, but I would definitely be opposed to a "Zero tolerance" type law for drinking and driving. Most people can drink a beer and then drive just fine.

By the way, drunk driving is 5th down on the list of what causes the most accidents. Number one, as you would expect, is "Distracted driving", i.e. texting and driving.
