Currently have two mains I rotate with: a 2010 R7 top-refin and a recent Warmoth partscaster with all NOS parts (body, neck, Kahler, Duncans).

These two get the most rotation. On the right is my 2013 Historic Makeovers R9. Brazilian board and all the upgrades. Jescar 57110 frets. Pretty much every GZ amp out there was voiced with it. Has a Tone Nerd Roxy in the bridge.
The other one is a 2023 Murphy Lab Brazilian limited run R9. Stupid good guitar and plays and feels almost identical to my 52’/57’ conversion. The fretboard is almost black. Also has a Roxy in the bridge. I’ve been using it a lot lately and is giving the HM a serious run for #1.

Was it a little nerve racking wondering what would be under the gold?Currently have two mains I rotate with: a 2010 R7 top-refin and a recent Warmoth partscaster with all NOS parts (body, neck, Kahler, Duncans).

Nice call, you noticed the highly figured tin top.PRS?
No, I knew it had some figuring. If you aim a flashlight at the guitar top with a steep angle and catch the reflection at the end of the guitar body with a white sheet of paper, the grain shows up.Was it a little nerve racking wondering what would be under the gold?
I am sure it costs too much.Nice call, you noticed the highly figured tin top.![]()
Paul personally plays these before they leave the factory.I am sure it costs too much.
I hope he washes his hands.Paul personally plays these before they leave the factory.![]()
Where's the conversion?
Man, what a beautiful guitar! Damn!!!Here it is. 52’ Les Paul with 100% original finish front and back. Never had a head stock repair etc…
It had already been converted to a tune o matic when I bought it. It had the OG P90’s in it, which I still have in the original case. It also has the original Central Lab pots and original tone caps. It weighs 8lb 4oz and has the perfect neck. Not baseball bat at all. The Brazilian fretboard is as dark as they come.
I sent it to Jim Weyandt at Jam City for the conversion. I sent him the PAF’s with it. They are a double white 59’ PAF in the bridge that measures 8.7k and a double black 58’ PAF in the neck that reads 8.0k. Jim is the guy for conversions. He did an outstanding job. The pick guard is the original, which he cut for the PAF’s.
Eric’s guitar shop refretted it with Jescar 55090’s in nickel. They are perfect for it. It had an older refret when I got it.
The PAF’s are pretty crazy good. The bridge is that “Tele on steroids” tone. Super clear and articulate. With a good Marshall it’s a lot of fun.
