Had a great deal with a local rig talk member here locally at least, VERY cool dude and good conversation.

I am grateful and very happy to report, that I am BACK in the Wizard owner 'camp'.

2019 Wizard MC II 100 watt E34L JJ loaded and JJ ecc83S. VERY fun amp and I remember that awesome dynamics and punchy huge room filling sounds!

I actually am really favoring boosting it with an old SD-1, just totally takes to the sound and gets it in that aggressive territory that I enjoy.

Bonus: This amp version is updated with the Black Kat mod on rhythm master push pot, it is neat, I enjoy the lead channel the most to be honest, BUT the added versatility it brings to the amp with this rhythm ch mod is very neat! Kudos to Rick for evolving and tweaking the circuit.

Hell yeah dude, nice!
A Wizard and SD-1 or Duncan 805 is tits. Something about the SD-1 though with the MCII circuit, low gain input, onboard boost off...its this indescribable sinister, vulgar tone that just does it unlike anything else for me. Hard to explain. I've owned like 4-5 MCIIs and its been the same with every one. The Hybrid I have now also produces this same effect/result but with some added tweakability with the saturation knob.. Nothing like it with these circuits for that Wizard thing.

Dude YES! You hear it too, what I mean is lead channel onboard boost OFF but SD1 ON = Really snarly nice aggressive higher gain tone. I LOVE it. It also allows the use of onboard lead boost to be the official 'more gain' lead boost it is designed for lol

Yep lead is sick that way but I like low gain input, lead boost off and SD-1...less gain and compression but bigger, thicker sound and more of the nasty ass gnarly grind thing. Probably a bit different result on the Hybrid because the Sat knob.
