There's a million monster players on RT - if you want some guest solos or anything like that there's a ton of people (me included!) that are always down to do collabs!

here's me and @dstroud doing rhythms and leads in an "eagle fly free" cover

Much appreciated!

I’m pretty fired up over getting a live band together, I just miss playing live way, way more than I expected I would. Knowing our live scene will welcome a band doing the kind of music I want to do just has me chomping at the bit to get out there again.

That said, I’ve been stoked to see the more playing-focused posts here the last couple months with the head cutting threads and neo-soul jams, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I get involved in some RT guitar fun.

Giving control over your art is a fools errand. It has to be for you.
Being in a band sucks. There's always some fuckin douche megalomaniac in it that thinks the world revolves around them..

Somehow, this story reminds me a lot of when I would sometimes write commercial music for a client. It was always, "oh, this part is so great..." and then a day later, "um, is there a way you can completely re-write this so that it's more like ___?" By the time your "music" is finished, it sounds like the most bland, dull shit and your voice is almost completely erased.

I went solo at age 23 and never wanted to permanently join a band again after being in many. It's like being married to 4 other people. It can work, but there's just a lot of pain and drama involved. And then people leave and that hurts too.

Fortunately, I figured out when to part ways before things ruin friendships. I thought I was doing that with this band, but being that I haven't heard a peep from anyone since I quit leads me to believe they're not on the same page.
