Love the preamp in those and the .50cal+, maybe my fav Mesa.
The .22 has a rep for running the el84s too hot. Might be something to look at if the plans are to put it back in action.

I gigged one of these for years. Still one of my favorite amps ever. Ate through EL84's like a monster though, but I was using it constantly and cranked.

I was impressed by the rawness it has . And thanks

But fr . If I set up a noisegat and run this through my uberkab . I’m going to try this

I've gigged my .22+ a lot. It's a great sound amp, easy load out, easy to manage for any volume I need. I went to it for modern quieter stages, so it isn't cranked and going through EL84's too bad. I suspect it's the amp I've gigged the most in the last 20 years. Great amp.

I also have a .50+ I picked up a few years back. It's got an issue and is among my collection of old amps that need me to just take an afternoon and open them up.

I need to fix some amps myself . But ya this amp kicks ass . I liked the rawness so much

Yeah, the .50 Cal+ can get gnarly pretty easily! No boost needed and still brings the 'tallica chugs!

I ran mine through a lee jackson era ampeg 4x12 with g-12-75. It sounded amazing. One day Dave Rowland let me borrow his 2x12 Mesa Lonestar to play some bigger shows and that Lonestar to this day, with a Blues Driver boosting it, is my best live tone. It weighed a ton and I just don't care. I tried so hard to preserve that amp but some total idiot backed their shit and made a small dent. So I returned it to Dave and he didn't say anything, he also sold us 2 Epiphone Eliteist LP's for like $750 each.

I've run mine through my Marshall 4x12's and Mesa 2x12's. It definitely sounds bigger through them. Sounds great. I even bought mine as a head in a rackmount case, though the seller included the original combo chassis+speaker in the deal. (Worked out great for me, as you had to read the details of the ad to understand what all it included, so I got it cheap.)

Still, I mostly use it as a combo. If I'm going to haul a head+cab, I'll probably just take a MKIII out.
