I was expecting an answer like this. Let me translate this non-answer into what it really says. Here goes,

"I'm doing nothing about this. I'm sitting on my ass bitching on the internet with my boys. Maybe if I cry hard enough someone, somewhere will do something. If not I'm just gonna watch things go to shit."

Are YOU running for office like the guy in Minneapolis? NO. Ok, then, are YOU supporting the guy running against him, the guy YOU actually believe in by going around drumming up votes for him by knocking on doors or working spare time in the election office? Or raising awareness in the general populous by marching or knocking on doors? NO. You're sitting on your ever expanding ass wishing things were different.

If you want change, go MAKE change. Or shut the fuck up because otherwise you're just a whining cry baby.

Sorry for the tough talk buddy, but you need a wake up call. Because you just sitting there IS the problem.

And lastly, for clarity, I'm NOT advocating doing anything illegal. That would be just stupid.

Tough to campaign for Minnesota candidates if you live in Indiana. 12 hour commute, I'm sure you didn't consider that before making that absurd post...just give it more thought before putting your fingers into action, we have plenty of that here already.

You really didn't read my post very carefully, did you? First of all, donations aren't state specific, are they? Second of all, when/if the same situation comes up in YOUR home town, you can vote/campaign/or even (gasp) run.

You seem to think I'm for the left (wrong)...again, you didn't read my post closely enough. I'm against people bitching but then doing nothing but bitch and bitch even more when the shit finally hits the fan.

Fucking DO something!!!! Stop leaning on your shovel, slack assing all day bitching about the boss. No one likes a whiny, lazy complainer. DO something.

I vote. EVERY election. And my people are winning, life is good. Being aghast with insane politics elsewhere is natural and provides lots of interesting discussion but obviously not for you.
I'm guessing you're also sitting on your fat ass and typing, nothing to be ashamed of...except WHAT you type.

As a general rule I try to plan for the most likely scenarios. At least to some degree. I could claim that I vote against it since I vote for candidates who most align with my positions, but the fact is where I live those are pretty much the only candidates who even have a remote chance of winning an election. If I lived in Michigan or Minnesota or any other "occupied" state, I would move.

Ya I am, and if you ask "what?" I'm gonna answer "none of your business". What I'm doing may not apply to where you live and what your opportunities are. I mean, something as small as sending $10 to a candidate you endorse is something. I'm not saying to go out and firebomb or assassinate someone. God forbid!

What I'm pointing out is that bitching on a guitar forum to a bunch of guys who already agree isn't getting anything done. Is it??? Get off the net and go do something.
