Recommend me a stereo multi-effect unit for Soldano X88-ir setup

I’m Jonesing for that preamp.

Can any of you discuss the preamp versus the modern SLO?

I would go VP 4 as well, though I might only use it for Rotary, delay, reverb, and harmonic Tremelo, & standard pedals on the front if needed. The four cable would be awesome of course. I would definitely add their EV 2 to blend the post effects in.

How do You like the Soldano, Carl?
Since the early 90s I lost count how many SLO 100s I owned.
This preamp is what the SLO 100 should have morphed into through the decades that they never touched the original circuit.
Meaning, that by now the SLO 100 should have three separate channels, and each should have their own separate EQ.
That said, the preamp kicks all kinds of ass. I love it. I would never want an SLO head while I own this, there’s no way.

I am using a VP4 with my Soldano x88ir in the loop and real pedals out front. When I need to be quiet due to family members working from home or late at night I play it through Ollo s5x headphones and that little rig does not suck.

I use an eclipse or an eclipse and a 2290. I wouldn't recommend a 2290 to anyone at this point but an eclipse might be ok. They've got good analog and at least acceptable on most FX.

The 2290p pedal is nice, but not really a multi-effect.

Damn

Maybe I should get one as I love my SLO 30 but it seems redundant.

Yeah assuming it duplicates the rack unit (I've got no time on the pedal) it does delay, chorus, flanging, and tremolo all in stereo but no pitch shifting, reverb etc.

It's sort of half way between a multi-FX and a single effect unit. The delay and chorus are pretty world class though.

Yeah, I love the chorus on the 2290p. I like it better than the SDE-3000D for comparison.

For wide stereo chorus I think the TC SCF sounds the best out of these 3. It's a true 100% analog, scaled down version of a 1210. It does "that" sound better than my 2290P and SDE-3000EVH.
