Fractal AM4

This looks awesome. Put it on a board with some class D pedal amp and you’ve got everything you’d need for a travel gig.

I could see the use case for the VP4 but it didn’t exactly call my name. This does.

2U just for the larger LCD screen. I love my VP4, but hate it being on the floor.
I know I’ve said this before but I don’t get this at all. I suppose aside from wanting the ability to utilize existing racks/brackets? You already have a computer, you already have something on the floor…why would you want an additional expensive thing to need to own/lug around/maintain/have to ditch when v2 comes out?

Fair price and looks fully loaded for the size. I don't have any GAS at the moment but that's something i would not say no...

Nice formfactor and feature set; and it sounds good. Looks like they made it easier to get better tones without having to deep dive into the expert mode.

At this point, I have my fav tube amps to enjoy as loud as I want; I have my Boss SY-1000 and SY-300 for guitar synth, but I use my computer rig / software plugins more.

A computer rig, audio interface, MIDI floor controller - each upgradeable separately for lower costs that dedicated hardware for amp modeling/capture - and your favorite guitar software plugins just makes more sense to me / for me.

Guitar processing for a computer isn't large; you don't need a high-end gaming computer. I got my Dell Latitude Rugged Extreme Tablet with touchscreen for around $200. Intel Core I5, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, Windows 11 Pro, 11.6" touchscreen,... More than enough to run my guitar software. There are things you can turn off in Windows to save CPU, memory, reduce/eliminate interruptions, and improve stability. No latency issues. I've played this rig for hours without any problems.

That said, if someone made a dedicated, all in one floorboard VST host computer with audio interface designed to use my favorite plugins (PolyChrome DSP), for $500 or less, I'd buy it.

I wish one of the Chinese companies like Mooer, Hotone, Ampero or some unknown would make one, where we could install any VST guitar plugins we want.

Until then, my Dell works just fine; could be smaller, thinner, lighter, with an 8" touchscreen.

Love the form factor, and the price is competitive. Has everything I'd need for a gig. Wonder if this'll be one of the units that'll eventually get a NAM update as they start pushing out NAM to their next gen units, or if this isn't going to be part of that "next-generation products" line up because it's based around the VP4 which was released before that statement was made.

This looks cool. If I wanted to get into the a modeler I’d go this route. I’m a long time AxeFx user and use the AxeFx 3 every time I play. I bet this paired with the VP4 or the Eventide H90 would be a cool rig.

I really like this and it hits the price point sweet spot for this kind of unit. With anything, there are compromises and that would be the more intensive delays and pitch which require more processing power. However, if you wanted to get into the Fractal ecosystem at a more budget conscious price, then this is a great thing to get!

Well, a post was made clarifying that it’s not to be considered one of the next gen units, but I wouldn’t take that to mean it’ll never happen. I have no clue about what requirements are necessary to run NAM files, but considering some of the shit Cliff has pulled off I wouldn’t be surprised to see it make it’s way onto it down the road.

The fact he pulled off gapless presets (not scenes) years into the III’s lifecycle tells me that if he’s inclined to make something happen, it’ll happen.
