Hey all,
Started writing/recording this EP about 2 months ago, and after spending a TON of time with it, I finally released it digitally yesterday. I'm working on a limited-edition cassette/download-code release, but in the meantime, digital only!
Now that I'm in my early 30s, I figured it...
I'm not a delay or reverb guy by any means. The new group I'm in however is having me to do a bit of pedal/lap steel mimicking. Got 90% of the way there with a volume pedal, but this thing is taking it over the cliff. Stoked to be able to use the adjective "haunting" again.
I...
just finished up the second gig with the new band I'm playing with, and came to the conclusion that for me, heaven sounds like one tele through a blackface princeton reverb on the right and another tele through an ac15 on the left. good god, dreamy.
what's heaven sound like to you? (I'll...
Clip times available at youtube if you don't wanna sit through it all! There is some awful playing here, mic clipping on the clean channel, and prolly the worst camera angle possible. Why am I even posting this? My demo skillz are terrible unless I have a clear idea of what I need to do. If...
Finally did a decent job of capturing some tones with a 57. It's dry as hell and straight from mic/mixer to comp...no processing at all!
Anyways, this used to be a fully blown Cameron modded Carlsbro, and after a ton of hassle, basically got reworked by Todd Sharp at Nashville Amp Service...
"Ol' Grey Mare, she ain't what she used to be."
Have had a love/hate relationship with this one. Almost loved the original Cameron mod completely (ver. 1) After initially hiring the repair shop to beef out the EQ section and replace the filter caps, they called me up and said...
Had the guitar dropped to C, as I've been rockin some he is legend. anyways, figured i'd see how the cameron sounded. still can't get lappy mic to do justice.

After debating selling/trading over some initial disappointment with the EQ section on this guy, I finally decided to do a little investment and make this guy work for me. I brought it in to Todd Sharp & crew at Nashville Amp Service to see about getting a more usable EQ put in. They finally...

Just got this guy home, and was testing it with the rig. Didn't have any expectations or anything, so for what it is, it's pretty cool.
Old English Electronics Tonemaster (Valco) 1x8. It's in horrific shape, but I like amps like these looking like they've spent 40 years underwater.
My band, I Believe in Hotpants, is busy tracking our debut EP, and now I'm finally getting into some serious guitar tracking...thought I'd post a clip of where the band's at:

I decided to bust out some of the decent recording stuff today out of boredom.
Did a little VH, and then 2 made up riffs that sound reminiscent of...stuff.
Guitar is my 72 Deluxe RI with custom PAFs. Only used the bridge pup.
Amps are a Cameron modded JCM800 (aldrich/jose? I dunno...) and...
