I don't necessarily think that his advice alone will get a person anywhere with recording but NGL, having worked sound boards in the past, when it comes to his frustrated advice towards young musicians, I TOTALLY get it.

In that way he's a delightfully honest representation of what it feels like to be asked really dumb questions.

A question I was once asked, and I mean this: "Are you able to make our drummer sound on time? Maybe run his channel through a laptop and chop the bad parts through a DAW live?"

"On top of making sure your amateur use of the vocal mic doesn't cause oscillation? Sure, that's just as impossible."

Also to his credit, he is usually pretty clear that all his bold claims are directly relating to recording metal music and from the point of view of the listener. As a guitar player he may very well think that some tubes sound for feel better when he’s playing, but when it comes to recording the track and putting out a final product, the end result will have very very little to do with what tubes or pickups were used.

I just don’t like his schtick. I can’t blame a guy for making a living, but I wish he would just tone it down a little.

I believe his message is to not get hung on that shit and just play/record, but that succinct message gets lost in his personality lol

I agree that his loudness can be a bit much. I have to watch his shows with headphones so the people I share a living space with don't decapitate me.

Splawns are hollow and have no mids.
Fender cleans are overrated.
Marshall amps only sound good because that is what was used to record our favorite albums.
Mesa Boogie doesn't know how to innovate.
Fortin sets the bar high with his all original designs.
The Evil Pumpkin is 100% made in the UK.
Cameron has paid back all of the 'fucked fifteen' so he's good now.
Larry amps ship fast and are cheap for what you get.
Solid state amplification has surpassed tube driven amplification.

I think it's time we woke Walt Disney from his icy slumber and make him stand accountable for creating the monster that has fucked the entertainment industry up so badly

I mean if he's cryogenically frozen then he's not legally dead, right? We can still hold him accountable for shit!
