Bad Cat Lynx......

They had a price drop on the Lynx to $1679 at most places. Probably lacked sales, or maybe an improved model is in the works.
It's just a holiday sale pretty much, early Black Friday. I saw that a while back a couple months ago too and then the price went back up after two weeks so I was a bit heartbroken as I thought the special price was over but it seems to have been a special holiday sale.

Looks to be 20%.......

Black Cat and a few others are doing these type of Black Friday sales before Black Friday..... Sale on a lot of the line too. That's why I'm like..... Fuck...... Maybe my last shot.....

And either or I think people are beginning to see the value here too and people are buying these more and more and faster and faster. The Lynx 50 Combo sells out a lot at the stores I see who carry them.

It's pretty much between the Charvel Satin Ferrari Red San Dimas or a new Bad Cat Lynx....

I need a cab but can make due with my Katana Artist MKll with the Waza Speaker as an extension cab.

Yeah even the Bad Cat Hot Cat is on sale right now I think till 12/3/2025......

Pretty much 20-25% off some amps depending on store and some stores are offering lower price than the manufacturers sale price too 😳 😳 😳

Good deals and great amps worth the money IMO and Made in America

Yup it's an "All Access" Pass/Sale of at least 20% of for most things direct or at stores......

Stuff like the Cub, Lynx, Hot Cat and Ocelot as well as some others I believe.....

Fuck........ I need to get one now.... I'm such a weak little bitch :ROFLMAO:

It's a price-drop good until 12/3 on American Musical Supply.

Studying the amp a bit more....... I think I understand it better now after seeing some more vids and going over the specs again. I was curious to understand how the gain stages work and well pretty much I don't think there is another amp in the market that has more...... It even has more gain stages than a 6505 or 6505 ll/+........

The only thing I really wanted before going further and possibly getting one is simply understanding how it works. Everything is pretty straightforward but what I didn't understand is exactly how the Hi/Lo function works 100%.

It's as easy as 3, 4....... And 6, 7 in terms of gain stages......Saw this vid with Tim Pierce and I finally got it...... He didn't explain it like this but seeing him going through the amp made me realize it.

---Essentially in Channel 1 or clean/rhythm you are at 3 gain stages in the Lo mode, when you flick to Hi mode you get 4 gain stages.

---In Channel 2 or crunch/lead in Lo mode you are at 6 gain stages, when you flick to Hi mode you are at 7 gain stages.

So you pretty much cover almost any gain stage you can imagine in an even cascade and flow as you go up the gain stream/stages essentially providing pretty much 4 channels in one amp with all the gain any mortal would need ever pretty much...... You don't need 7 gain stages but many use 6 gain or 5 gain stage amps and still throw pedals and ODs on top of them so I say why not 7..... Just offers more gain on tap and articulation too and really defined notes and note separation.

Who doesn't want more...... In an age of more....
More is good..... More is what everyone is after..... And that is what the Bad Cat Lynx offers..... More and more and more for the uncompromising player seeking only the best and pure excellence 👌

And with a Peavey 6505 or 6505 ll costing more than a Bad Cat Lynx.....

And being made in China vs America like the Bad Cat.....

And compared to other overseas or MIA builds..... The opportunity cost is pretty good, it's a quality amp and it delivers gain like nothing else pretty much and can also pull off some amazing dynamic cleans and break up tones for how much gain it packs :dunno:

Well there's tons of them
How about a Suhr Hedgehog or other models they make.......Or even an AC 30......Princeton's to me are practice amps, but I love them. You don't think you need bells and whistles to have an amp that can do a lot.
All my guitars have 3 way and 4 way selector switches and 1 or 2 volume controls......There's always where and how hard you strike the strings. That's a lot of tones......
If your not playing in that area of insane saturation with no dynamics just about any decent guitar and amp can do a lot.....
I must own 25 dirt pedals......not a detriment to use one.......

I have a Princeton Reverb Reissue and IMO it's probably one of the best amps ever made.....
It's up there with the best or boutique whatever

Mainly just wanted to bring up the fact that while it is a good amp it is limited.

Regarding that there is a lot of control or that it's hard to figure the controls out. ImO it's probably easier to use than a Marshall with 4 holes, more convenient in that sense too and even easier to use than something like an AC30 or a simple amp like a Twin even.....

In its simplicity and layout especially relative to other modern amps it's pretty easy and straightforward to use. In that sense it really just focuses on the fundamentals and doesn't have a shit ton of bells and whistles and pretty simple and straightforward ImE :dunno:

I preferred channel 1 for heavy chugging palm muted stuff. The amp felt like a high gain AC30

Pretty daft description and a pretty pedestrian one given that it sounds nothing like an AC30....... :dunno:

This is a better description from the manufacturer and dealers and it's pretty much what I described it as well when I played it...... Not the description by you or some random whoever on a forum or the internet.........

This amp brings the classic sound of the '60s and '70s into the modern age - without compromising on tone or versatility.

It sounds like a Peavey 5150/XXX and a Marshall Plexi/JCM800 had a foursome, fucked and had a baby with even more gain keeping that vintage mojo but with a shit ton of gain and an attitude fit for the 21st century in a modern yet simple package

Also as good as EVH 5150 lll are...... And they are good.....

They are made in Mexico and with this deal/sale/discount you are getting a way much better amp than even that for around the same price give or take a few bucks..... As good or better than even top Boutique shit made in the USA.......

More gain on tap than pretty much that or anything else practically or yeah...... Anything else.....

This amp is just a no brainer for the contemporary guitarist looking for something with a modern feel, gain and crunch but with vintage mojo :dunno:

Cant tell if you're joking. I owned the amp, played it a bunch. Im not the only one who feels it has characteristics of an AC30. Its definitely British flavored. Also the description of "brings classic sounds of 60s & 70s to the modern age" would literally be how you define a high gain AC30.

Is it a bad amp? No. I liked it but I have 8 other amps right now so I needed to make room. I just preferred channel 1 high as it felt a bit more raw than channel 2. Would I buy another one? Very likely.

No it wouldn't be how you describe, it would be like a Plexi or similar......but with a modern EQ curve and a shit ton more gain even compared to a 5150/6505.

The AC30 wasn't exactly a 70s classic sound as much as it was strictly a 60s classic sound...... Nvm the tone pretty much giving one the vibe of a classic Marshall but with modern attitude and a modern package.

I guess many of you who think this use your eyes and the Matchless/AC pedigree of the company vs the actual tone of the amp....... Go figure and par for the course with todays below average education....... Nvm the amp uses El34s for power and V30s for the cabs :dunno:

Since I don't have the funds for a cab yet I'ma just use my Katana Artist Mkll Combo as an extension cab and since it's got a 8 ohm 100 Watt Waza Speaker it should be more than enough.

Luckily I have a nice Providence SP206 speaker cable and all I need is this from GC after I order the Lynx to get the proper length from cab to head.

Pretty neat and didn't know these things existed and a nice life hack for anyone else in a similar situation who wants a head but doesn't have the cash right now for the cabinet. All you need is one of these things and a speaker cable and make sure you are hooking up to the correct ohms and your set.
