You can hear the Gary Moore influence for sure, (and a little Yngwie). I have several of Norum's solo albums. Always has great tone to boot.

Total Control is such a great album. "Let Me Love You" sounds like Gary Moore and Yngwie had a baby!

He really reached a new level just before leaving Europe in the '80s, too. They started out humble but grew by leaps and bounds in a few years, shame he didn't stay for at least one more album back in the day...

Johns solo work though is near perfection for me as his influences were my influences barring Yngwie. It's odd, I picked up any Yngwie influence through John lol.
