I have an SD-1W. I like it. Honestly, I usually prefer the stock setting, but the custom setting with the extra level and bass sounds killer through some amps. I thought it sounded particularly good into a stock JCM800. In the room, it had more thump and saturation without getting muddy. Not...
“One-of-a-kind” B6…that was the lower priced model with what I believe was a fixed feature set to keep the price down. Unless I’m missing something, weren’t all the B6 guitars were all generally the same? I’m not sure how many Doug made, but I do know they were eventually made by Feline guitars.
Thanks man. Yes, it sounds a more compressed in the recording than it does in the room. I did this clip a while back and am going off memory, but I’ve had the amp for a number of years and know it well. I do remember the amp was pretty loud when I did the clip (likely loud enough to jam with a...
The pickups do have some top end. What you're likely hearing is the hair switch, though. I had that on (not sure if it's in the highest position or not). I was also running the bass and presence relatively high too.
Found an old clip of my Cali mod I did last year. It was one of my first times running it through the front load cab. I thought it sounded cool, so I figured I'd post it up here. Solo'd guitars are after the drums.
Here's the chain:

I’m really sorry to hear about this. I only wish the best for his family. I didn’t know him, but I’m on here enough to know that he was a huge part of this forum for the better and will be greatly missed.
What I’m finding interesting about the guitar tone is it sounds good on my earbuds, but when I listen on my nicer headphones and interface it sounds smaller and a bit low in the mix. It cuts still, but it lacks body and doesn’t sound as good as it does on the earbuds imo.
That said, I’m digging...
Yeah it's a bit rounder and warmer. Not that that is a bad thing, but I too didn't find the tone as interesting as some of their others. To contrast, I thought the tone sounded great on Violent Sleep of Reason. That was a few amps layered if I remember correctly.
I haven’t messed with the 100w EL34, but I also find the 100w Stealth to be relatively forgiving. When you’re trying to keep it super low there is a spot where it will jump up a bit, but I find it not terribly hard to keep it between mouse fart to tv/bedroom level if you want.
