So I got the other day this 412 that I really only got for the speakers it came with (very good price), but am having trouble removing the back panel to access the speakers. I unscrewed everything, but it’s so tightly fitted that I can’t get it off. Anyone have any ideas that could help me take it off? Thanks in advance!

I had that problem with my last cab and the only way I could get it off was to really forcefully pull back hard on it. Almost like a reverse punch if that makes sense. But if that had not worked I have a jack in my truck I would have finagled in there and used that. That said, there are probably some small jacks for sale out there that would work.

Take out 1 side handle and use a rubber mallet inside the cabinet to gently start knocking against a corner of the back panel.
That’s what I’ve had to do in some cabs I’ve had, but this one doesn’t have any side handles. Just a top one like the amp heads have :(

How big is the back plate?
Even if it’s just a small one, take it off and get something in the hole, you should be able to pull it with some force, a quick jolt sometimes frees it.

I tried that yesterday, but was having trouble. Will try again when I’m back home tonight. I was trying to undo one of the jacks, but it just was very stubborn. This is how it looks. Can have a clearer pic later

I’ve used a metal scraper (the ones that are about 4 inches wide) to lever the back off, if you’re careful you can do it without damaging tolex. Also good to run it around the back to unstick any stuck areas.

If you don’t care about dinging up the tolex you can just use a flat head screwdriver or prybar.

I was in the middle of typing the same thing and you beat me to it lol.

Punch through the back of the cab panel, and pull it out.

Yeah the previous owner said to use a flathead or thick card. That’s how he did it. It already has plenty of dings and wear, so not to worried about that. Will try it tonight when I’m home

I’ve run across cabs that look like they are rear loaded, only to be front loaded..that said, take a crowbar and jam the end in the crease and crank it up and off

How was construction inside cab?
Anything interesting?
