Wow - too much? I mostly want to add to my crunch channels to fill it out, add sustain and mids for leads. Also to use as a different flavor blended with my crunch channel.
Actually the Whiskey sounds good too. I'm tempted to try one in my LP Standard and the other in my PRS CE-22! Is one darker than the other? My LP is bright.
What's it like? I'll message him again. I like full, balanced, hot but warm pickups. I'm the same way with speakers, in that I don't like to paint myself into a corner with pickups or speakers that have extreme EQ spikes and curves. I stopped using V30 speakers and am very happy. With pickups...
Curiosity us what you guys could suggest for a few guitars?
PRS CE-22 and maybe an LP Standard.
For whatever reason I tend to like humbuckers with some heat. Even though my amps have plenty of gain, higher output pickups have a feel and tone I enjoy and works for me.
My PRS Singlecuts have a...
I agree and it sucks because with a pedal like my Dirty Shirley, I would live to use it into clean as another channel. I did that with my Bogner pedals but didn't work well.
So, I try to blend with the crunch channel or use as a solo boost.
Yes, I want to get one.
I picked up a Friedman Dirty Shirley, so I'll give this a go first. I'm using it as an OD into my crunch to shape and change it a bit. Also, great as a lead boost.
I'm sort of wishing I had gotten the Soul Driven.
Is that demo the pedal into a clean amp? Sounds great but I wonder how it feels. I've had pedals I ran into my clean channels but they never seemed to feel right. I tend to use my crunch channels as a base and add an OD pedal rather than OD/Distortion pedal into clean.
I have looked at the Zen Drive but it's been many years. I believe it is discontinued and very expensive on the used market? I see them listed for $250-$800+ or so!
The Soul Driven which I've tried does the boutique 808 tones in buckets. I think I may end up getting it. Plus my Buxom and Golden Pearl knocked my 808 off my body ard along with the Bonsai.
Always up for trying others though.
Yes to stack? I want an OD to round it out. I love what I hear of the Soul Driven and Dirty Shirley.
I had the Bonsai for a while.
I love the Buxombut use for tightening some tones and for a basic boosted feel on my highgain tones.
I use the Golden Pearl for crunch tone leads.
I'd like...
Hey guys,
Curious what you all are using as tour favorite oversives these days!?
I don't have any OD pedals at this time other than my Friedman Golden Pearl and one boost, the Friedman Buxom.
I'd like to find something far and creamy that can be used a a standalone box into my clean...
Thanks, that's good to know.
I'll keep it in mind when I look for my next amp. The thing is, the highest gain the Uber excels at, isn't something I would use much. I love and appreciate it.but since the last metal band in which I played, I haven't used that type of gain much. An Ecstacy would...
I agree, that's my dream amp but it's huge and expensive. :(
Oh OK, thanks for the info.
But for a gig amp the Ultra I assume would not be easy to access clean, crunch and high gain all from the footswitch? Sounds like you have to change channel one to crunch?
But, yes, the XTC 20th is my...
Was the SSH able to sound big and cover a lot of high gain genres well, as well as the Aldrich assuming you set the amp up for it? I may get one for my LP which has an Aldrich now. I have a PRS SC with an Aldrich so I may go for the SSH here for variety. Also have a BBQ laying around.
I do tend...
Personal preference. For me the Aldrich is my go to pickup. Absolutely love that thing. Makes me play better because it just feels and sounds right in my Singlecuts. Curious what you use?
Always up to hear others and their choices, etc.
Also currently like and use the BBQ, Timbrewolf, Fenris...
