I’ve tried the 75s on top as well as X and I slightly preferred it in X pattern. It’s true that the 75s weren’t as loud but they still offered something I enjoyed to the overall sound.
Does the hinds have the classic sound to it that others have mentioned? It sounds like it may be the one I want. Prices for it used are fairly high when I manage to find one.
I saw they jacked their prices up. I had a Thrasher and liked it but not $3200 worth. It had a mean attack to it though, really cut and sounded good recorded the twice I recorded stuff with it. When I sold it, I sent the guy a sample and regretted it a little bit. That ‘it’s already gone and of...
That’s a great way to wind down at night. That’d be a cool collection to dig through.
I was given a big stack of them when I traded for a JCM. The guy had them in the trunk, I want to say like 100+ of them maybe, and asked if I wanted them. I was almost as happy about them as I was about the amp.
I’m a sucker for Peavey and prefer it here. I need an Invective mini. I had the Kraken pedal and it was good, but I came out preferring a head kind of setup to the pedal thing.
That XLR out on the back makes it right up my alley!
I may be in the minority but I didn’t love the Ceres, speaking on the modern pedals. I tried it with KSR’s power amp and a few others as well as with a Marshall, etc and it didn’t give me anything I wanted to keep it for. User error probably.
Ahh, this thread makes me want more Oranges. I currently have a TH30 and CR120H. I adore both of them. Really killer sounding. Two PPC412’s and a 212.
Had a MKI Rockerverb that I kind of regret trading, even though it needed work, and a Jim Root Terror. I miss the Jim Root a lot. Small, loud...
I had a Revv (G3, actually) and the BE and loved the Revv into everything I tried it in. I still regret trading it. I highly recommend the Rev. The BE was good too though. I just thought it felt less… genuinely angry? I almost got the AT but ended up with a Ceres instead so can’t help there.
My first Gibson LP, Marshall AFD nor JCM. The sound and feel is always there with the JCM and LP. And the AFD partially because I couldn’t believe I got it in trade for a Kemper I didn’t yet know how to use so didn’t appreciate,
I had less plans before reading other people’s plans in this thread. Those aside… a QC/Kemper/Axe for the band I just joined. They’re all compact and digital and I go lugging in awesome, but big, amps and cabs usually. I still enjoy playing my current stuff better but I had an Axe FX III that I...
I used to run an EVH stealth through a boss waza tae (which I guess isn’t technically an attenuator I’ve seen) but found that it sounded great without it. But with a Jcm 800, it was nice though. I use the boss now to go from any amp to FOH but that’s beside the point I think.
I kind of fell for the non-Stealth LBX in videos so might do that one day regardless. Although I tried a Stealth in Guitar Center and it was super cool but I went for a JJ Jr. I also tried a DSL20 again. Liked it but big tubes aside, I liked the Stealth a lot.
I posted this on TGP too but I want opinions from you guys who seem to favor heavier stuff like I do.
So, I play metal mostly, but the band I've been jamming around with likes to play 90's rock and grunge too. Alice in Chains (I know, Friedman seems right), Tonic, Goo Goo Dolls, things like...
I have had a BE-100 Deluxe and currently a Butterslax and prefer the Slax a lot, personally. Tons of gain on channels two and three and the first channel is incredible for everything. Really probably my favorite channel.
I concur. I've got an Ultra 120 and an Ultra Plus and I've used both in bands and they really are great, not even just 'for the price'. They can do a lot for a little money.
I've had or have a Vypyr, 5150/II, Bravo, VTM, Ultra/Plus, JSX and they are so good, especially for the money. The Vypyr...
