*Was* monstrous, yes.
I ended up going back to an all tube/analog rig shortly after I'd set the aforementioned monstrosity up. Sounded killer, but it just gave me options-paralysis, so I went back to keeping things simple.
GEQ and Tuner, the only true "must haves" in my humble opinion.
I love the MXR M108S so much I ended up picking up 3 for use all over the place (different amps, front, back, desk, etc.). Awesome pedal, other than the blinding blue LEDs ?
I ran a 2/90/2 into a pair of Fryette D412s when I first got into the Fractal products years ago.
It was pretty fkn incredible. I opted for the KT88 loaded 2/90/2 as KT88s are more neutral in their tonality and the headroom is untouchable.
Was a great setup at the time.
I'm a Lester fanboy - owner of many - some true vintage - some custom - yada yada.
If ya want a proper Lester, it takes time, patience, test-driving and money. I've been at them for 20 years or so.
But one thing I've *never* contemplating was a Les Paul with f-holes. Now, ain't saying...
I love *every* channel... SO versatile. And that 4th channel - can be anything from amazing overtone rich leads down to crushing palm-muted chugginz
Ya, I love my Hagen. And VH4. And D-Moll.
Never heard about it till just now - it does look pretty awesome, especially for that price!!
There we have it - actual hardware is so much more visceral... Like, I just love the hardware aspect of sound creation tools for EDM. And often at times the older the better - just those bizarre...
The Spectrasonics suite is hands-down fkn unbelievable. But it's software. I want a 1000sq'ft of space with racks and racks of old synths, and wall to wall module panels and a control booth surround with swivel chair in the centre of the room where I can access everything via touchscreen OSC...
Falcon is killer.
As to hardware, man, it's just the vibe of those old synths and even-older-school patch cable panels to create all those weird burnt-rubber smelling tones and noises. But you're right - software today is insane. Getting into a truly personalized/customizable OSC has been my...
Love EDM
Currently using the Spectrasonics suite (ya, the whole lot of 'em) along with several drum/pad plugins. But Omnisphere + Trilian + StylusRMX ??? Yep, it's awesome. I am jonesing for some old school hardware keys and wires - but that's a rabbit hole I best avoid as I can easily see...
Tried pretty much everything out there for 30 years ?
Some strings offered a crisp voicing but then faded quick, others felt gummy, others dull, others too brittle/harsh, some just failed and snapped too much, yada yada yada.
GHS Boomers, they're my go-to. Love 'em. And they last forever...
