Anybody into making non guitar noise? Post your rig.
I've not been playing guitar as much since I got into this crap and my band fizzled. Bass player from my former band came over with a Native Instruments Maschine, hooked it up, hit a pad and a rooster noise came out and I was in... LOL
Love EDM

Currently using the Spectrasonics suite (ya, the whole lot of 'em) along with several drum/pad plugins. But Omnisphere + Trilian + StylusRMX ??? Yep, it's awesome. I am jonesing for some old school hardware keys and wires - but that's a rabbit hole I best avoid as I can easily see $100K going into that little side project ?

Practise restraint in the meantime.

TBH the Spectrasonics stuff is awesome and you shouldn't need any hardware mate.

If you don't already have it, I'd recommend UVI Falcon to compliment your trio of Stylus, Trilian and Omnisphere.

Falcon is killer.

As to hardware, man, it's just the vibe of those old synths and even-older-school patch cable panels to create all those weird burnt-rubber smelling tones and noises. But you're right - software today is insane. Getting into a truly personalized/customizable OSC has been my focus - something that can pull everything so that I can manage on a whim. I've got a lot of what I need...something that controls "everything" is something I would want.

RAVE ON BRADDAH!!!!!!! ?

Agree 100% bro'.

I've only ever used hardware synths and drum machines / modules.

Purchased the Spectrasonics stuff in preparation for the eventual "transition" to computer. Been a very-long journey of saving bananas in the hope that one day I'll be able to get back into all this. I just hope the move from hardware to ITB doesn't hurt too-much.

The Spectrasonics suite is hands-down fkn unbelievable. But it's software. I want a 1000sq'ft of space with racks and racks of old synths, and wall to wall module panels and a control booth surround with swivel chair in the centre of the room where I can access everything via touchscreen OSC. That's more than a $100K, but it's a concept for my next home ?

Similar to my setup, but this reaching is hard on the lower back. I need to come up with some other chair. My back is ready to crumble. I'm the opposite of most. I am IT Admin by day, so prefer hardware. I use ableton and logic for my push when I want to crunch out a whole tune nobody will ever listen to. Problem with Elec Music is everyone with a laptop is crunching out songs and 99% of it sucks because it's so personal. Everybody thinks their shit is the best. I don't, I had a dist label and got like 4 clicks on spotify. Have to know people in this business. Just like the government.

The alesis strike does electronic and synthy sounds too which is fun and cool. I have a critter and guitari pocket piano (midi) synth, a stylophone and a crappy keyboard. Its fun to sequence some beats and melodies with my little collection of electronic gear...

There we have it - actual hardware is so much more visceral... Like, I just love the hardware aspect of sound creation tools for EDM. And often at times the older the better - just those bizarre esoteric weird things from gawd knows what era. Wires and plugs and scratchy faders and pots. Dusty weird smelling modules and boards. It's fun AF. Software definitely makes putting it all together hands down easier than ever before, but for inspiration, I dig the hand-on-hardware vibe. I'm a guitarist, sometimes a pianist, so for me it's not hard to reason why I dig hands-on.

Nice setup btw!!! ?
