Yep!
I'm trying to remember if Grover did it after he bought Charvel from Wayne - I think that was the case. Grover was concerned that Jackson was too "extreme" for Charvel's customer base, so he created the brand, and then the headstock "migrated" to the other brand. I think... I'm getting...
I think you're missing the point. They don't need to license the pointy headstock shape to Jackson/Charvel since the entity still exists and is intact as an Incorporated division of FMIC - JCMI or Jackson Charvel Manufacturing Inc. The headstocks are trademarked by FMIC, but the "Strat"...
So?
They didn't own them in the way up though. The Jackson/Charvel pointy headstock was theirs first. Not sure how long you've been a big J/C guy (or if you even are now), but there were a LOT of years that the most sought after C?J guitars had strat headstocks, but they weren't able to make...
I have both Indo and Korean ESP/LTD's currently, and they're tough to tell apart quality-wise. But that might be an ESP thing. The Jacksons I've had recently were mostly Mexi or Indo. Kinda of a toss up, with a slight nod to the Maxi made guitars in terms of finishing details on hardware, but...
Back with Gibson! Nice! We should chip in and get him a string cutter now!
He's awesome. I've really gotten into his stuff quite a bit the last few years.
I'm gonna wait a couple days before I update. Lots of people having issues with doing the update - which happens - but I don't need to be the first adopter... Excited though!
I have a PS700 that I pulled out of my "rig" today. Running it with either the NDSP QC or the HR Core - all into old school Boogie half-back 412 with Greenbacks. Top notch SS power amp, and the thing that really made the difference for me is having a 3-band EQ to compensate for your presets...
King Diamond was the last concert I saw before Covid. Andy was awesome, and Mike Wead was far from a slouch. People really get nostalgic about Andy and Pete, but I found Pete's playing to be a bit sloppy, in particular when next to Andy. Mike's playing is much cleaner.
I've been a fan since...
I have a PowerStage 700. LOVE having the B-M-T knobs to trim the sound depending on my volume or how I set up preset. No issues with mine at all. Sounds fantastic/transparent!
I had one...stupidly sold it. I have another now...and unless I develop a drug habit (which I've never had), it will be with me until I stop playing I think... Great guitars! That top is SICK!! Congrats!
