If it was cheaper, I'd buy it and replace the neck with one that has a Strat-style headstock. But too much work for a $1500 guitar.

People must not know about vintage style trems....
The VegaTrem and Gotoh VSVG can dive bomb, pitch up and down as much as any Floyd or Khlaler. Yeah, they're more expensive but you also don't need to put that crap on the nut or worry about any routing (they are drop ins).
Please research Vintage style trems are far more capable and reliable in tuning and construction.

I'm trying to remember if Grover did it after he bought Charvel from Wayne - I think that was the case. Grover was concerned that Jackson was too "extreme" for Charvel's customer base, so he created the brand, and then the headstock "migrated" to the other brand. I think... I'm getting older, and have had a few beers in my life, so I might be flipping that around...
The rest is history.

I rarely use a tremolo any more, so for me I like the no floyd .

Not in love with it but i dig old school headstock and the NO floyd. Would be cooler with a non locking first gen reissue Floyd and locking tuners though. I hate floyds. Would love more manufacturers to ditch em.
