I'm just about to purchase an Axe FX III & have settled on the Matrix GT1000FX for the amp, but torn between the FR212 & NL212.
Does anyone here have experience with both cabs & which one would you recommend for the best tone & amp feel?
Thanks for the info guys.
The thing that scares me is that I will spend all this money on an AxeIII, cab & power amp & then it will sound too fake & especially not feel like an amp. I'm BIG on feel & that's why I returned my Kemper. it felt too sterile & fake.
Having said all this, there are...
I had a Kemper for a week or so a few years ago, but didn't like the tone & lack of real amp feel, but I want to take the plunge & set up an Axe-Fx rig.
What do you Axe Fx guys suggest for a cab & power amp to simulate the feel of a real amp?
Yes, we just A/B them as straight attenuator on a Marshall Super Lead. I thought the OX sounded more organic & natural & the PS2 sounded more compressed.
What did you think of the OX & why did you think the PS2 was far superior? Any tips I can uses to get my PS2 to sound better?
I'd tried a few of the attenuators before like the Ultimate, Alex, Bad cat etc & all of them noticeably changed the tone so I gave up.
I tried an OX a few weeks ago & it was amazing so I ordered the PS2, which is 1/2 the price & as good, imo.
All of my amps sound so much better now going...
I have a ton of pedals & got tired of always having to swap pedals back & forth, so I build one giant home board that has over 20 pedals on it so they're all there in one place. It also looks cool. ;)
I just got a Fryette PS2 & this is what happened 10 mins out of the box.
Suhr Modern + cable into Ceriatone 50w Yeti & the PS2 through a 2x12 cab with Celestion Heritage 65s. No effects or pedals & filmed with a cheap Logitech cam.
I had no idea the Yeti sounded this ballsy & thick. :rock...
In a year or two, they will be the same as they were last year, if not less.
I know guys paying $3500-4,000 for used ones thinking they will never be made again & the price will triple.
I wouldn't doubt if Mike sells the rights to Boutique Amp Distribution. Might as well. They make everything now.
I know 2 guys that are picking up used SLOs at super high prices thinking they won't be made ever again & they'll be worth $20K soon.
They're in for a rude awakening. They will...
That's what I was thinking too.
You don't take a car salesman seriously who doesn't respond to how fast a car goes just because the buyer can look it up online.
A serious seller answers all questions from all buyers if he's 'serious'.
I PM-ed about a shipping question & never heard back...
The info is correct. You just never responded.
No big deal though. I'm not upset or anything.
It's just odd to be selling gear & not responding to potential customers.
You do have awesome gear though.
