I also notice from the pre-500 that switching between 6 string/7 string guitars doesn't need drastic changes in EQ settings. Its so raw and focused that it cuts easier in a band, you will be heard for sure!
Thanks!
I had a bunch of 2 channel rectos C, D, F & G and i still own the chrome chassis Rev D. A couple of years ago i tried a 3 channel and didn't like it at all, i found it too fizzy and flubby even boosted.
Recently i rent a Dual Multi-Watt and gave it a spin, i was impressed how good it was.
The Rev C is the first available version of the rectifier, supposedly a copie of the SLO circuit. The orange channel set to modern should give you the closest result for that sound.
In your life, you will meet some people that have something really special in them. Call it as you want, some people say gift of god. Personality traits that are bigger than life, Dime style was so unique.
They all sound good!
I got mine with E34L in it, i think it's the typical sound you should expect from the Uber. More mids, my guess is you could get more crunchy rock tone out of it with these tubes and the gain knob dialed back.
Then i tried the KT77's, to me they sound too much like a Recto...
I always come back to the Uber, i like the way they react to my playing. Try some EH 6CA7's if you can, they sound the best in my amp. I compared them to JJ's E34L and KT77's.
Congrats man, it's a killer amp!
