Yeah completely agree, Kiso have made some amazing guitars and they have a lot of mojo (maybe more than newer ones) but the 2017 onwards builds are just one another level, they are absolutely immaculate in every aspect.
Be wary that build times will be quite long though! Wouldn't expect to receive it before 18 to 24 months at least but I'm sure that if you end up doing it you will not disappointed
I think the E serial number guitars (Original Series & Custom orders) that have been coming out of the Japanese Custom Shop these past few years are some of the best guitars ever built in terms of quality and feel. I have a couple original series and custom orders and cannot find a fault on...
I would not rely on a computer / ableton if you're not already very familiar with it. Backing tracks on your phone played through the PA should be fine. If you have a decent amp you could play your through a cab and have the backing tracks through the PA (would need to adjust the amp volume to...
I bought an original white '87 for way less than that last year. Not sure how these at $2500 make sense, especially considering they don't have an ebony board (which is a big difference)
I have tried that exact setup with both power amps and they both sound good as stated above. I ended using the 5/50/2 for the synergy as I use the PS2 as an attenuator for another amp.
I wouldn't worry so much about the sound but rather what features you prefer: 2/50/2 is stereo but...
Nice amp! Have a late '69 almost identical and it rips. These early metal face Marshall's also tend to have a more gain than one might think in my experience, perfect to rock out...
I've put BKPs in a couple guitars and they do sound good but I've been gradually moving back to SD & EMG. Also, to note that here in the UK Seymour Duncan and other US brands are the same price and often more expensive than BKPs and are considered a premium brand.
