This thread is giving me wicked Matsumoku GAS!

I had a pretty large collection of Arias and other Mats like 20 years ago, and ended up selling almost all of them.

So, I had to go on Ebay and do some window shopping. Prices seem to be all over the place, but there are some really nice guitars for very reasonable money. Maybe it's time I got myself another Cardinal.

This PE120 is absolutely gorgeous, but also big, big money.

I've ordered plenty of guitars from Japan both from stores and individuals and they have always been packed well for what it's worth.

Were these from individuals, or music shops? I've received many things packed extremely well by Americans.
The Last time i sold a guitar, I Sold it to a guy at a guitar shop in Colorado Springs that happened to be an employee of Music Go Round. When the guitar arrived, They complained about how well it was packed because it took them 15 minutes to get through the bubble wrap and tape. that attitude would explain why the last time i bought something(a ts-9) from that company it was inside a box with NO Packaging materials.

Some of the worst packing I've received has been from GC-used and MGR-used.
You'd think they would be good at it with all the extra packing materials they should have laying around and seeing that they should know how things should look when done right.

I agree. My Soldano Avenger that i got Back in 2015 was from GC and it arrived fine but was packaged terribly.

MF has always done reasonably well for me, although not always ideal,,,,,,,,but;

A couple years ago my son wanted to try keyboard, and being that I too have always wanted one to play around with a keyboard, we decided to get a basically $400 Yamaha model that I found had a "return/open-box" unit in-stock for an unusually large discount of $100. I wondered what was up but decided to take the chance.

Well it arrived as truly "open-box". Like one end of the box was literally hanging wide-open and the only thing keeping the keyboard in was the tightness in the box of the foam pieces surrounding the keyboard. The box was also partially crushed and looking like it passed through the Ukraine. Fortunately the keyboard itself was absolutely perfect, and everything was still stuffed within the foam packing,,,manual, charger, sheet music holder, ect.. This is one of the rare times when I haven't kept the factory box for an item!
