What's the budget? That could be a major determining factor. Standard mic people go to either instead of--or in conjunction with--an SM57 to combat/balance the upper end is the Sennheiser MD421.
Other alternatives include the EV RE20 and even the Heil PR40 or PR30. A Shure SM7 may also be the...
I've never noticed it but I'll be at my rehearsal space today so will check for it. It's been my main amp for this group but I mainly live on the yellow channel and use my volume knob.
Echoing Stephen's post above, there is no amp that 100% cops the UL lead channel.
I think most people would be very happy with the Sig: X as a passable substitute with a great range of tones (including a wonderful array of clean tones).
I also really enjoyed having the D120 and using an EH...
Lol mumbling started well before the 2010's.
Chris Cornell - the king of the mumble. Kurt Cobain learned much from him. Don't get me started on Eddie Vedder. You ever try to decipher the words to Yellow Ledbetter?
I'm sure the 80's had some mumblers also, but considering that decade was...
Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger was primarily VTM120's. I think Louder than Love may have been also, but the Terry Date production on Badmotorfinger made for a much heavier, crunchier sound.
Baroness used VTM's for their earlier albums and they sound GREAT.
Gosh I loved that amp.
I've never listened to Billie Eilish nor have I cared to, but there fact that someone is so aggravated by TGP and her that they needed to start this thread probably says more than anything else.
VTM = Vacuum Tube Modified
Boosted, it can get as heavy as anyone could ever want, particularly with the Comp and gain dip switches toggled. My rec would be to play with each dip switch (at volume, BTW) to see what each one does, then start playing with the combos. That amp just has so much to...
Honestly I wouldn't be able to tell a difference. (I have a Warmoth Strat body attached to an Allparts neck and it's become my #1 for the group I'm playing with now).
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Warmoth.
What kind of color? Transparent dye or solid?
If transparent, I had great luck with aniline dye powder (mix with water or alcohol and rub in to the wood) followed by Tru Oil for a clear coat. Obviously let the dye layer dry first before applying the Tru Oil.

This gives some context that suggests the P50E was initially meant to sound like the now OEM Mesa Vintage 30.
FYI K85 and K100 are the exact same speaker.
They are sensitive but not ice picky like a V30 can be. Truthfully only amp I've disliked the K100 with was a Marshall... tried a 1987 and a 2203 and both were shit with the K100's.
I would consider this. K100's alone have been great with my D-Moll and are no slouch with my Fryette/VHT's. I still probably prefer the P50E's for the CLX, but even on my Sig:X, the K100's are a better fit.
I had a K100/P50E x pattern in my fb412 for a few years. Honestly all P50E sounds way better.
No idea on V30's but generally speaking I'm not a fan of V30's.
