Hi all, I'm moving and thinking about upgrading: What are you all using (in the room / wall-mounted / multi guitar racks)? Let's see what you got - recommendations welcome. Thanks! Moritz

Anyone using a diezel for their brit type tones

I also agree that you don't need a Diezel to do Marshall tones (even though it can get close, it is a Diezel, not a Marshall). Put differently - and to my preferences only, OP's are probably different but I thought that was the question: Diezel is my main sound and I would not blend it with a...

Anyone using a diezel for their brit type tones

I think it depends on the Marshall model and what you want to achieve, but imho Diezels are in the Marshall sound-base camp ('british'), wheras Mesa is in the Fender sound-base camp ('american'). At least to my ears. I use lower output pickups, gain around 10-11 o'clock. After a about 30mins...

Anyone using a diezel for their brit type tones

Yes. Einstein (Ch1 or 2) and / or Herbert (2+, no mid-cut) work well for me. That plus the reliability and all the useful bells and whistles (MIDI etc.) as well as the super nice people with exceptional customer service makes the difference to me.

If you could have any guitarists Abilities who would it be?

Fun question, so many to choose from. My gut says Nuno. I'll also throw in Matt Bellamy due to his musical capabilities (guitar and beyond).

Insurance for amps and other gear

I have a specific insurance (had to list all my gear and provide values / invoices) but got it primarily for gigging worry-free.

    Your #1 guitar

PRS Custom 24 PS. Swapped the EMGs with BKP Abraxas. A bit embarrassing to show up with, but that root top is so awesome and in the end it's just a great tool that gets the job done. I treat it the same way I treat every guitar, play it every day.

    Help!!! Mods!

Hi Michael, Good to see you're back and allowed to have an Internet life again! I'm still lurking and playing the Diezel Einstein, though international moves (currently Finland, back to Germany in August), two small children and remodeling a house starting this year keeps me plenty busy. Once...

PRS players, owners, etc. let’s see pics!

Custom 24. Didn't sell, I assume because it's not designed for typical PRS-folks, so I bought it at a sizeable discount. Swapped the EMGs with a pair of BKP Abraxas, my dream guitar. Sounds and plays great, but not better than a good standard Custom 24. Using it with my Diezel Einstein...

Les Paul's #1 going to auction

Great guitar and history, but so much bullshit from these two dudes: If they really wanted the world to have it, they should donate it to a museum instead of putting it up for auction. Either it will land in the hands and secret vault of someone or bought by one of you guys here and 'modded' to...

Want to try Bareknuckle pickups - recommendations needed

I called them up (Ben in this case) and described my gear and the tones I'm looking for and he was very helpful and knowledgeble, so I recommend you do what I did. They also make sure you don't forget to order the correct parts needed (pots etc.). I play heavy prog rock, Diezel as the core high...

    New Tool

I've had a few listens on headphones now and I keep coming back to listen again. To me it's not a 'classic' that will stay a staple for years to come, but Tool doing what they do, and I like it. The production is awesome, personally a shared first with Lateralus. What might be throwing a...

Einstein:Rev connection broken, soldering on the pcb, advice?

Hi all, the cable that connects the reverb spring to the board in my Einstein combo broke. Seems like an easy to fix problem, I already have a new cable lined up and now need to solder the three wires to the corresponding points on the pcb: [/img] Unfortunately my soldering iron is a...

Advice / Opinion please: Switching solutions

Thanks, much appreciated! Afaik RJM doesn't have an adapter cable for the mini amp gizmo and the Diezel. Maybe some other people will chime in with their experiences.
