I've had 3 of their LP copies, the 2nd was my favorite (it was refretted by my local tech wizard, then fell out of my guitar stand and broke the headstock).
One of the main selling points for me is that they have models with 1 3/4" width at the nut. It's more comfortable. Unfortunately...
Wah. It's hard enough to get my hands in sync, let alone an extra limb.
I love my MXR Flanger, but I'd use it more if it had a level or wet/dry knob (same goes for phasers).
Mercyful Fate-Don't Break the Oath (I love how the rhythm tracks all sound like they have varying amounts of bass/treble and gain, while still remaining heavy)
Motorhead-Ace of Spades
Opeth-My Arms, Your Hearse & Still Life
Melvins-Honeybucket-what in the hell is this fuzz pedal!?!?

John Christ (ex-Danzig) used PRS humbuckers in his BC Rich Biches (HFS/VB). Even 20 years after I purchased it, Danzig II still has some of the best hard rock/metal tones ever.
Modern metal bands could learn a lot about practicing restraint from early Danzig.
How many pop artists make an obscene amount of money despite the fact that they use autotune and don't sing live? That is the fear of sucking that limits a musician from doing something great.
I'm not really that into them (I like some of their earlier stuff, once they got into 8-strings it just because redundant), but they are much more interesting 99% of other metal bands. Probably the first band since Morbid Angel's debut to get the whole 'Lovecraft sound' correct.
I bought my XXX 2x12 in 2006, it was my first tube amp. The fizzy tone is long gone, due to the v12's and the MXR 10-band EQ (I definitely recommend getting one used if you get a XXX).
If you're looking for something that sounds good at low volume at home the XXX is perfect, 1x12 60w or 2x12...
DO NOT GET THE XXX 212. You probably shouldn't get the JSX 212, either. Get a used XXX head ($400 in the used section of Guitar Center) or JSX head ($600) and find a cheap, closed back 2x12 cab and fill it with a pair of Eminence v128's. Also, get a couple of low-gain preamp tubes.

Never cared for her music, but something about her makes me want to call the BC Rich custom shop and get them to make an old school Black Warlock with the 3x3 headstock, quadratic bridge and the car bomb electronics (every time I see all those knobs and buttons on old Rich's, I think of the...
10-46 for E/Eb on Agile LP copy
13-62 (with the wound 3rd switched from .026 to .022) for B standard w/Ibanez Prestige
D'addario is charging too much for the 13-62 set, which is basically a 10-46 set with the .010 thrown out and a .062 used for the lowest string. Not worth the $9 when I'd be...
Nope. He doesn't sell covers anymore and I don't think he ever sold this kind.
Schaller makes these covers in all kinds of finishes, I guess I could ask one of their US distributors to request some?
Because people sold them for better amps. I remember people in the 90's (people I'd ask at music stores) saying how much they hated the 900's and DSL's and that the 800's, bare bones as they were, were far superior to anything Marshall had produced since. The only 900 model that I've heard...
I'd like a couple of these in 50mm:
http://www.philadelphialuthiertools.com/pickup-making-parts/pickup-covers/humbucker-pickup-cover-double-row-6x6-nickel-plated-nickel-silver-49mm/
or one of these in Nickel, and in the US...
Only of you're playing lead. Trying to play high gain Rhythm with a 2203 and a Tubescreamer is the reason that people started buying Mesa and 5150's.
Not a fan of Mesa, but they soundly kicked Marshall's ass in the late 80's-90's and onwards in terms of producing high gain amps. JCM900's and...
Stock speakers on the Peavey XXX 212 combo. Only speakers worse than the v30's, when applied to the XXX. Oh, and the v30's suck with the Engl Screamer.
Whatever Mystery speakers were in my old Carvin 412 from high school (head was a Crate GX130C). After viewing some vids on youtube, the...
Here's something that sucks about modern metal: so many people are using the same high gain gear and end up sounding exactly alike. Every idiot metal band is an EMG 81 guitar into a TS9/TS808 into a 5150/Recto into a V30 cab.
Everything and everyone sounds the same. How many great bands...
