I had the mod reversed, and then a few years ago, I had Friedman work on the amp. I doubt there's anything in there anymore that would be identifiable as a Jose. But I definitely appreciate the offer.
I own an old '71 100 Marshall that was owned by Richie Kotzen. It was modded, with a cascading gain circuit. I have no idea who did the mod, but often wondered if it could have been a Jose amp. Richie owned this amp during the Poison era, and Mother Head's Family Reunion album.
Honestly, the...
I'm not sure exactly what the diode clipping situation is on the 900, but diode clipping isn't always a bad thing. The Silver Jubilees were diode clipping amps.
I've heard some JCM 900 4100s sound really freakin' good. It depends on the player and how it's dialed in. If you can really play, then you'll make it work fine. For loud punk rock, I think it'd probably be just fine.
It might be because the nitro on a non-painted guitar is essentially a clear spray lacquer. The nitro on a solid color IS the color itself. In other words, they don't spray a clear over the color, it's all mixed together so to speak.

The Marshall will also add clarity to your sound.
Steve Vai had a bunch of his Eat Em & Smile guitars stolen from a storage case at some point either before or during the first leg of the tour. The story is, he had Performance Guitars slap together a few replacement guitars for him. I remember one was white with orange and blue spray paint...
The Pitchfactor has the same 910 setting, and it also has the Crystal Echos setting, which isn't included in the H9 Core.
I'd go with the Pitchfactor. Much easier to use too!
Bogner just came out with one that looks pretty cool.
I just bought an EGO a few weeks ago. Not really using it much though. I intended to use it with my acoustic, but I'm not sold on it yet.
I sold my Kramer Nightswan lightning graphic in 1994 for $600 (today they're going for around $1800).
I sold my GMP Firebird in penny copper metalflake for $2500 with the intent to use that money for a SLO. However, my wife got wind of the sale and that money quickly dwindled down to around...
