In theory, perhaps you're bang on, but I don't think a guy like John Petrucci is helping to sell the volume of amps that you seem to think is going to make him a rich man on that alone. I'm not denying he has a horse in the race, but why spend all that time with the design, why commit to a...
You mean someone like John Petrucci...? I agree man, that would be ideal.
It would be even better if they hadn't, when designing the amp, used the input of some chump who never used a IIC+ for basically his entire career.
So I picked up a Suhr Badger 1x12 cab with a V30 in it. I gigged my Shiva through it tonight and whilst it didn't sound as big as my OS2x12, I didn't exactly miss the 2x12. I definitely didn't miss the weight and size! The Suhr cab sounds amazing.
However, is this a terrible idea? There seems...
Yeah there's a switch on the back for 6L6 or EL34s. Honestly, whilst it isn't a huge difference, I tried EL34s in mine and I thought it was more detrimental to the cleans than it was advantageous to the dirt. That amp is definitely designed around 6L6s to me.
As for the board, generally... time...
I had Bright Onion Pedals here in the UK make me an interface. It also has a switch which enables me to run it in 'normal' mode if you like, with the Eventides and EB Volume pedal in the FX loop, or in 'backline' mode, where it'll run everything in series for when I'm using rented gear...
I had a similar setup with the M13 a few years ago.
You can't turn the FX loop on and off but you can definitely change everything else in one stomp. You'll just have to set up a bank with nothing turned on for 'dry' sounds. Use the tube drive model to boost the clean volume if you it...
Hey man. I took it to a tech last week, and it came back a little less buzzy but it is still there. He re-set the bias (apparently it was way too hot) and it did decrease it ever so slightly. He was stumped about the hiss/buzz/hum/whatever you wanna call it and is waiting for a schematic from...
