thanks for your input. I do like the small size for my pedalboard, but the I dig the tone the most. The current model have the dip switch on the outside (hi, mid, and low positions), is that what you're referring to?
thinking of picking up one of these. It has a cool blend knob for the dry and the compressed signal, and the Ross-style compression sounds real good.
Anyone played or use the SP? Opinions?
just adding one more tip to all the good ones here: make sure you have enough gain and mids in your amp, it does help. Of course you can pinch on a clean tone or an acoustic if you want, still comes out but that's not what we're talking about here. Another thing is the bridge pickup is better...
Same ones, maybe the bias hasn't settle in yet, maybe they work better in the 100w (mine's the 50w). I'm giving it couple days of playing before the final verdict.
I had a lot of success with the TAD in my randall amps, but they just don't seem to kick with the eVH
Thanks for the input, what do...
well, I got some new JJ preamp tubes, 2 Golds and 2 regular 12AX7s, 3 Mullard ECC83 put into the preamp. also replaced the power with TAD 6L6. Not sure if I like the TAD in there, they seem to lack bass compare to the JJ, and the tone is not that much better, I do like the preamps though, seems...
Looks like we got similar taste inpicks. I too love thick picks, REAL thick, like betwee 4-5mm. Currently using Dunlop Primetone 5mm sharp.
I used to use V-Picks, I do like the performance and the tone, but i hate how they wear out real quick, even after one session of playing the sharp points...
the thing that baffles me is, during this period (late 80s-early 90s) there are a ton of guys who could play and bring the shred at the same time.
How the fuck did this guy get a Fender endorsement? Goes to show you, if you're in LA and you got a good publicist, anything can happen.
my thoughts exactly, that's why when I saw this on SS forum, had to share it here.
If he really had endorsement deals with both Fender and Gibson, there's something wrong, we really do have an alternate reality.
