for a 100 W head? I always thought you needed more power handing from your speakers than your amp can dish out. I would think a single 412 Greenback cab (4 x 25 W speakers) would be able to handle 100W but with no "safety" factor built in. I realize a 100 W head might transiently push more...
I have the same rig. It's fuckin loud isn't it? I just run it mono most of the time. I find the fryette to sound good even at very low volume settings (of course, it's better loud but you'll find this to be true generally). I wouldn't attenuate this rig, but if you want to do it you'll...
Who use's one and how? Started rebuilding a pedal board after years of just plugging straight in. I got a DS-1 to punch my crunchy marshallish amp into 80's metal territory. I was pretty pleased at the sound from this mundane pedal, but was really surprised at how it ended up being set...
It think the wrist injury is kind of an excuse. He can probably play circles around most people even with a wrist injury. He alludes to it that way (as an excuse) a little in some of the few interviews he's given. I think he is just more of a shy reclusive personality who was a practicaholic...
If you want something to tame the highs and add some bass but don't want the high output of the Tone Zone try a Dimarzio AT-1. I put one in my maple neck through carvin with mahogany body and it helped tame the chirp
I recently got a Fargen miniplex. If you want classic marshall sounds with new construction I can't recommend it enough. The Olde 800 might be just what you are looking for and can be had used for $1200-1400.
I'm diggin' it. I liked the solo. "controlled" use of the whammy and articulate tone. Sounds like he is trying to play with less gain these days. Overall I liked the song a lot better then 90% of the other new stuff I'm hearing these days
Agree with a lot of what the bar owner said. Also, people just don't go out as much anymore. My son is in college and everytime I call him he's either working or "just hanging out" (probably smoking weed). Number of live bands he's been out to see in 1.5 years in school. As far as I know...
Welcome to the forum btw. I had a JCM 900 Dual reverb, not sure what model #. I thought it was the shit back in the day (shrill as hell though), but it got stolen. If you want a retube/rebias and a tune up go for it. I would not dump a lot of money into changing the tube type and changing...
1989 ibanez rg 560. Had since I was 15. Fits like a glove. A few years ago I spent $350 to refret this guitar which was probably only worth about $350  . Funny you have to step up to the "prestige" series to get this level of quality in an ibanez now. Was just their standard model then.
