I love the 6V6's in my Bogner Duende...killer little amp with those tubes and surprised how well they hold together when I turn it up. I like them better than 84's
C'mon guys they are live TV, of course everything is rushed. Other than Dave's singing I thought it was a great performance. The playing overall and the backing vocals were really good. That's a lot of hard work to get them like that.
Sammy says to the non believers "suck it" while in Norway in 93. I hadn't seen this one before and I think its pretty decent for a bootleg....

Yes you have appoint, maybe I'm being too harsh...but c'mon, if the guy worked at it even a little he could be so much better. It seems like he doesn't care so I guess that's the part that bothers me a little. But still you have raised excellent points
Whether you dig the music on this video Luther910 posted you have to admit they are tight and sound like they should...Daves lack of rehearsals show...you can tell these guys were well rehearsed for this show posted above. Yes musically its different, you had a different writer in the band...
Yeah how do you not want to whack him with your headstock? But again he could do it if he even tried to sing it like it was originally...he keeps going for higher notes...and the rest well...Dave is Dave.
Cool, glad it was better live. I think the issue that bugs me is they could be so much better if Dave worked a little at it and sang the dang songs at least close to normal the way they were recorded..he could be better if he wanted to. Just saw HFTeacher and again, band great, lead vocal just...
Have a pre-loved one I need to sell, will post it soon. Like new if anyone doesn't want to pay the full shot on one of these. Its great and I hate to part with it. Absolutely killer high gain head. Congrats
Guys are forgetting Sam had a very lucrative solo career at the time he joined VH so at the time it wasn't a slam dunk and Sammy got the deal of a lifetime, it was a good mutual fit and Sammy gave up his solo thing to do VH...solo thing which mean 100% control and all the cash.
I said it, I...
I think musically they still bring it pretty well, Alex still plays well and Eddie since cleaning up is playing great. Wolfgang is a solid bass player too so I have zero issues with the band musically, they still play those songs with some level of conviction which you cant say about a lot of...
You're about at that point from what I saw last night. Love the DLR era songs, no love for Dave. Sorry but he's well past his expiration date. Sammy can still bring it. I liked the Van Hager stuff for what it was, just a different version of the band. I think they had more hits with Sammy and...
Sammy still has way way more going on than Dave does...the man (Sammy) is 68 years old (7 years older than Dave I think), and doesn't look like it and still has his voice (amazing in itself that he can still sing almost anything from his catalog) and always seems to be having fun when gigging...
I have an older Red Box, I believe MkII and also the palmer and the Radial JDX, I have tested all against a mic on the cab (SM57) and the old redbox sounds the closest of all of them, very close in fact and sounds the most like the cab in the room to me. It also retains the special low mid thing...
