Fryette 2/50/2 vs. PowerStation for Synergy

Going to try the Synergy game. I do have one tube amp left but it's just way too mega for my small space. I have heard repeatedly from trusted sources that the 2/50/2 and 2/90/2 are far superior power amps to the PowerStation, though the PS can attenuate. Planning to use this primarily to run my...

What power amp do you use? mind sending a pic of your settings?

Oddly enough I was playing it through my Sig X.

If you were going to purchase a Kemper, AXEFX, or Synergy gear…

This is hugely helpful. I have an actual vh4 and the module gets very, very close. However, I find the UL module not to sound like what I remember a UL being? It didn’t have that dry Fryette grind that I’m used to from my pitbull CL or even my Sig. Didn’t seem like anything I did with the eq...

    Mint KSR Eros Boost/EQ

This is one of the most phenomenal boost/eq pedals I've ever used. It is packed full of options to help you really dial in your tone precisely. It’s not your typical boost. It will boost clean without overdrive, add a little grit, or add distortion. It has a 3-band active EQ for precision...

    SOLD: 2008 100 Watt VHT/Fryette SigX

Selling a very clean 2008 VHT SigX. Incredibly versatile amplifier, gorgeous clean channel all the way up to that dry Fryette grind we all know and love. Tons of tone-shaping options and built-in boost. Gold Lion power tubes less than a year old. Comes with footswitch. Lower 48 only, buyer to...

    Dialing in modelers

I think I lean towards the PA because I can use it as a “cab” at practice or an on-stage monitor.

    Dialing in modelers

I’m pretty happy with the built-in presets of the Helix, but whenever I go off “exploring”, I always get that “blanket over the cabinet” sound. Folks always advocate aftermarket IRs, but I got hundreds of them from a buddy and with the new Helix update, the stock cabs sound much better. I know...

You nailed it. Fryette got back to me quite speedily and confirmed. Just couldn’t find any “decoders” online anywhere. Thanks!

    Fryette/VHT Date from Serial

    KSR Eros Settings

If you Google it, there’s a video of a chap running through it with 5 tones. Haven’t tried them yet though. That said, I ran it into my SigX today and it gave me a big smile. I played my buddy’a SLO pedal and it was great - I never liked the way the amp sounded but the pedal kicks ass.

    Dialing in modelers

i looked at those early on. there's so many options it makes your head spin. i figure something like an EV ZLX should be adequate. it's not their highest offering, but seems like a solid go-to and possibly what you might use at a gig.

    Dialing in modelers

it did, and i struggled with it. always sounded like there was a blanket over it honestly with the new Helix update i'm getting better sounds out of the stock cabs than i am after market irs. i agree with the power amp and guitar cab statement. all about moving air!

    Dialing in modelers

I had a powercab 212+ and hated it. The headrush I tried in store sounded much better. Just looking for best option to not have to tweak too much when playing live. Not sure monitors are the best for that.
