Glad you got it sounding how it should to you, What value pots are you using? I have found that usually if I like the full sized humbucker I'll also like the stacked version of it...JB, Super Distortion, PAF etc.
Only you can decide what is perfect for you ;). I personally don't thing perfection exists in channel switchers but the Bogner 101B is pretty darn close for me.
I don't really know but of the (5) 4x12's I have my ranking order are Bogner w/V30, VHT FB w/ P50E's, JCM800 1960 with 75's, Splawn w/ Guvnor/Man o way in X and a Soldano with V30's
I don't notice any difference myself on newer ones anyway. I have a 2012 Trad + in HCSB, 2008 3 pickup Black Beauty (BB7) and a 2009 R7 Goldtop. The R7 has trans on the back, sides and neck, the BB7 is painted including neck..
If you're just using two amps an ABY will work fine. I have old Whirlwind that did the trick well for years before going with VooDoo Labs Amp selector...I now run a 4 half stacks through the VooDoo unit and can use any combo four or all four at once. Each input has level and ground lifts..pretty...
Honest answer...I wouldn't buy a new LP because your budget of $2200 wouldn't get what I'd want out of a Les Paul. If you can find a Traditional + or a Standard in that range on sale good luck. If you're new to LP's head out somewhere to get you hands on them to see what you like and take it...
Awesome!!! I'd love to have a real original but due to costs I settled on a used 57 RI version instead but it makes all other LPC's in the room inferior
I'd pass on that as you can buy a used R7 for that price range and it will be a better built guitar. (Custom Shop). I paid $2100 shipped w/o pickups for my R7
He was loud Friday in Dallas. I didn't use ear plugs that I brought just in case. He had 7 amps on. close to 50 heads and 20 cabs on stage. He played really well, precision and clarity with that volume level. Yngwie still has an impressive pick hand and efficient as can be. Even though I'd like...
I'm not a fan of Gibson's pricing and think they are way too steep...same with Suhr with 3k for an alder body bolt on strat. I bought my Historics used so I wasn't one to lose 50% on resale. The last one I bought was an R7, paid $2100 shipped w/o pickups (put Antiquities in her). The thing had...
He's in Dallas next Friday at Gas Monkey Live...I may go but will make a decision after this Friday when I see Yngwie there. I've never been to the venue before. I did see Mr Big back in the late 90's in a bar type venue in Houston...small venue and an arms length away for Paul and Billy when...
a 3000+ guitar should intonate fairly easily regardless of going from 10's to 9's or E-Eb tuning.
I'd take it in to someone to attempt to do it for if they can't then send to to Suhr but chances are its a neck tweak or the nut.
There really isn't a whole lot of major differences in the Ecstasy's over the years. It may but worth giving it a second chance. I wall say it can be tweaker but if you don't dig the basic tone and gain structure it may not be for you but give it a shot. I have a earlier 101B with the symbol...
I think Brad had some of the best live tone every recorded on that SOTD album..yep I have the vinyl when it first came out and CD to spin in my car. I like his playing of the Sabbath material.
Brad did fine filling in for Randy. He's a totally different player than Randy but he made it work. As...
