Clearwater on the 17th, which is a Saturday. I have no excuse. Ban me if I miss it.

Jesus does he own all the marshalls??

if you look close. only two are on, lights on in about a dozen with the switches in off position.

he likely owns all the Empty marshalls... gatta love stage dummies

they're not dummies

just because he owns enough for them all to be real doesn't mean they all are.

the majority of the cabs are likely real, atleast the bottom ones, the heads behind Yngwie are real or atleast 8-12 are real and ready to go.

the other 40+ and half dozen cabs, Too much of a liability. too much in labour costs. I doubt Yngwie has a guitar tech team of half dozen?

if those were real, i wouldn't trust them to stage hands.

Also can you imagine the call to insurance? " Oh i played this show, the lighting burst into flames and my 55 vintage marshalls got burnt up, can i start my claim?"
That was a reasonable analysis you did there, but you're dead wrong...they're all real. Silly? Perhaps, but it is what it is.
I saw the show in Greensburg, PA a few weeks ago and speculated the same thing...stage crew confirmed that I was wrong.

For the record, I've seen him a bunch of times and he was as great as ever if not better...he brought it in every meaningful way.

I'm going tomorrow night with my son who just turned 23, about the same age I was when I first saw Yngwie. I'm looking forward to it.

Saw him last week at the Observatory in Santa Ana. Sound was pretty decent, but bring your ear plugs, because Yngwie himself is ear splittingly loud! :D

He was as mind-boggling as ever playing-wise - so accurate. When he is picking super fast runs and sweeps, his pick hand barely moves and it looks completely effortless. He sang a lot (sounded good to me!) and the keyboard player and bass player also sang and have strong voices. Totally enjoyed the show. If you dig the guy's music, I doubt you'd be disappointed. I counted 48 heads on stage including the ones at the side of the stage - they all certainly looked real to me (what a logistical nightmare!).

I think he needs more amps because it sure looks like he would be buried in the mix with only those few amps to hear himself and project into the crowd...

He's coming to town this Saturday but I'm gonna pass. Going to see Metallica instead on Sunday.

I did not think her was very loud when I saw him two weeks ago. But I lived by a airport for years...

Maybe I'm just getting sensitive in my old age. ;)

He was loud. But it was a good loud and not offensive. Summary of this thread is the major are seeing him and feel the show kicks ass. And it does. I'd go see him again tomorrow. Great show :)

I saw him bout a month ago,Before that I haven't seen him since the 80s opening a Maiden show.Anyways, you could actually talk to the person next to you without screaming at them fairly easy...It was a "nice"loud I thought.Loved the guitar solo/feedback thing. very nice.

Nice to see that Yngwie is one more row of plexis away from moving his drummer off stage lol.

Ha yeah, just a few less Marshalls and maybe he could have gotten a riser.

I got tix for the 17th in Clearwater. Looking forward to it.

Saw Yngwie in Vegas on Wednesday night. Was great to see my idol after 32 years of wanting to! Though I will say that he was plagued by technical issues much of the evening that seemed to have him QUITE distracted. Not his best show I would imagine. He seemed irritated at the keyboardist and the bassist (both of whom sang... while Yngwie didn't sing at all and barely said two words on the mic). But Yngwie seemed far beyond irritated at his tech, walking off stage several times presumably to give him hell. It was a weird show. Yngwie was Yngwie... but doubtful anywhere near his best. I get it... I've played 1-2K shows over the past three plus decades, and have had plenty of shows where technical distractions prevented me from feeling like I played to my full potential.

The opening act was called Exmortus... and though the cookie monster vocals didn't do much for me... Ho Li Fuk the twin lead players were friggin TIGHT as hell. They kicked serious ASS.

I might of gone to the show the other night in Dallas if I didn't have work.

Went to Destruction the night before at the same venue and they rocked

I think it'd be cool if he showed up to a gig with two half stacks and two guitars.
It's about time.

He was loud Friday in Dallas. I didn't use ear plugs that I brought just in case. He had 7 amps on. close to 50 heads and 20 cabs on stage. He played really well, precision and clarity with that volume level. Yngwie still has an impressive pick hand and efficient as can be. Even though I'd like to see Jeff Scott Soto up there with him I didnt go to see vocal tracks but keyboardist and bassist did a decent job.

It was pretty damn full. He was good but not like I remember him in '85. Pretty high expectation to stay at that level though. And my memory of that show has probably elevated over the years. Loud but not too loud, his tone was OK but not quite like it used to be (those old Alcatraz live videos sound pretty much just like Rising Force to me, that's the sound imo).

I think the whole guitar tech schtick is just part of the show (there were several hiccups). That dude has his hands full just refilling the pick caddys (which he slept at least once). We were just laughing at it all.

52 heads, one million picks.
