I use mine with a Friedman Marsha. We use a Presonus digital mixer so the eq is simple to tweak..and the venue, crowd capacity, etc seemed to affect the PA tone more than any mic choice or placement. The Aiken box just removes one more variable that needs adjustment.
Plus, it sounds great!
I used to use an E906 on an Audix Cab grabber, quick and stays put...started using an Aiken Gold Box and prefer it's consistency, especially when using our own PA. Plug it in and done.
For $4500 that Suhr must have been loaded with options. While the fancy woods are nice there are plenty of used ones out there in the $1500-2k range.
I’ve had several over the years (still have a holy grail standard I bought in ‘09), don’t be afraid to get a “cheaper” model as they’re all...
I own one and love it. Neck and fretwork is awesome, tones are super versatile. Equal in every way to the Suhrs I've owned.
Only negative is the finish is very fragile...it will scratch just looking at it. And the nut is bone so you need to keep it lubed up or the strings will hang.

Go figure but social...
Man, I really enjoy watching his stuff (same with Al Estrada)...I missed the early VH years, so this is the closest I'll ever get to seeing a young hungry Ed live.
To me, the middle sc is only useful for the splits...I hate it by itself. The GG wiring is really nice in this way as the middle position is the neck and bridge split, very tele-ish.
Well, I really dig those in between sounds...that being said, all the pickups are direct mounted into the wood so there's no adjustment. The middle single does seem to sit a bit higher than my other guitars but I can live with it.
It's nice and resonant but I can't say it's "more...
I have the ash version and am very pleased with it, it's a really well thought out guitar.
My only two complaints are that the body finish scratches pretty easily (lots of pick marks) and I always forget to lube the bone nut (although once I do, tuning is extremely stable). The neck joint is...
