to me AFD is what rock guitar is supposed to sound like. all other gnr afterwards never sounded as good, especially the lead tones sounded kinda fuzzy or something on the later albums, nothing like the balls AFD had. and to whoever says that tone doesnt have balls i dunno, maybe your just used...

i used to live on teaching full time and playing gigs. i had 50-60 students a week and a few gigs a week, was a fun time and although back when i was living that life it seemed like decent money....when a wife and a baby comes and car payments and rent and healthcare and etc, its not so much...

and btw your getting great tone running direct with that pod, lemme ask you, how do you tweak for shows? do you use your monitors at home and hope for the best when you get to the gig?

no offense but if i came across that kind of success i would do that exact same thing to ensure i stay on the charts as long as possible. its not all about art and having fun and creating your musical fantasies for others to listen to. sometimes its just about being successful and making a buck...

i had a student who ordered a carvin, i forget the exact model but it was a neck through design. the finish was beautiful, the neck felt great, and it sounded clear as a bell. very natural. i really liked it and would love to own one someday, i just have to take the leap of faith and hope it...

i actually used one of these in a pinch one time, it was the backline at a club in NYC. i threw a pedal or two in front of it and got decent tone. i should pick one up for a backup

you should know that its awesome! ive never had one single problem with it as far as the setup or programming of it. i also got my hands on lairds white book and that was just the icing on the cake to really tweak things even better. ive never used the computer editor so i cant speak for that...

Actually, some artists do exactly that. Prince did it. Didn't Trent Reznor? I think Radiohead or some such band did it as well. I can't remember the names of the acts off of the top of my head. quote] Famous last words.... ;) prince, trent reznor and radiohead are on a WAY different...

the problem is these guys will play for next to nothing so the bars/clubs establish that as the going rate, in turn YES taking money out of our pockets when a fee is trying to be negotiated to book a band.

yeah the CAE stuff is great, and +1 on the rivera stuff as well, they get a great clean sound, although i dont really get along with the overdrive tones

i had the DG pickguard in a strat of mine awhiles back. it sounds great thru a complex rig, with lots of effects and etc, but lost some mojo when plugged directly into an amp. they sounded amazing through a fender cybertwin as well. possibly some of the best tones i ever recorded was with that...
