Darrell, if you come over here, I can already have my setup ready for maximum profileage. And show you how these things really work... I'm getting so much better results than when you were over last time.
Started getting more into 'tone matching' with my Kemper... all of these are right off the kemper, could have gotten them closer in the DAW but this is with no external fx. Everything is the Kemper, including the reverb. I know it's not 100% (nothing can be, I don't play like Eddie and I'm not...
Sounds dumb to me. I have small hands, I prefer the fattest necks I can find because I prefer the feel, really thin necks make my hands cramp and I hold the heretical opinion that big necks = bigger tone.
I also have a preference for les paul scale length guitars too though, just because the...
Here's a kemper rig doing boston.

Just speaking for myself, but my Kemper does exactly what I want it to do. It has incredibly accurate profiles of my guitar amps. I've owned it since February of 2012, and I still love it and have played over a years worth of gigs from a bar with a dozen people to outdoor gigs for a few...
Correct EQ taper on a model is great, but vintage Marshalls tended to have crappy EQ sections anyways. I'll take a good parametric EQ over that any day. The bass/mid/treble/presence control on the kemper works fine, and you can still adjust gain and several other parameters.
I have four...
I prefer using a powered monitor - because then you get more of the flavor of each amp/cab combination. If you play a good fender twin profile through a powered monitor, it sounds like a fender twin. If you play that profile through a guitar cab and power amp, it sounds like a fender amp plugged...
Oh, and while I'm thinking about it - if you're doing this with an amp head, shouldn't you use a Hotplate and take a line out from it since you would get the sound of the power tubes too?
LOL, funny thing about Kemper releasing this is last night I put up a set of 60 profiles from a Mesa Quad Preamp that were direct out only. I just read this thread about Kemper doing that. Crazy man!
I saw Journey in 2010 - Neal's solos were pretty much the following formula - short melodic pattern, then GIANT FAST NOTE FLURRY CRAM, then repeat and rinse. Saw them with Night Ranger, Brad and the Jeff Watson clone they grew in a laboratory smoked Neal.
If you aren't listening to the reference amp through the kemper profiler, you've already lost. Just follow directions in the manual, your studios are doing so many things wrong I don't see how a profile is getting captured in the first place. Not hooking up the kemper to monitors to compare the...
Here are few blue guitars I still have...
Quilt top '96 PRS Cu22 Hollowbody. Yep, it's hollow! They didn't make many of these.
USA Charvel from 2009 or so, they did 25 of these. Purchased from Squid Music!
Guitar in the middle, obviously - '87 or so San Dimas Jackson. Not a lot of these...
I think your comment was funny, would have been just as funny on the Line6 board or the Kemper board. Only difference is, they wouldn't have banned you. Note how I am NOT saying TGP wouldn't have banned you. :)
Plus means it's a channel switcher. Older ones didn't have the depth control. Opinions vary on the depth control - I added one to a hot rod 50+ and also to a SLO I had. I preferred the tone with it.
Could also be log vs audio taper pots. An audio pot will have a wider perceived sweep, log pots are more accurate resistance-wise but we 'hear' like the audio pots sweep. If that makes sense.
Since pots are relatively cheap, I'd buy a few and experiment a bit.
