+1 on the Einstein cleans! :thumbsup: OCD v4, Satchurator, Wampler Pinnacle Dlx, Wampler Pinnacle Plextortion, Keeley SEM DS1 - all sound throaty and natural. Even have the Pigtronix EP2 in front, and the vocal warble is so natural.

My advice is to "try before you buy" - especially IF you've never played a LP before. Andersons, Suhrs, PRS' - I would buy off of ebay without thinking (assuming authentic). Why? because I know their build quality is very consistent (CNC routing, QC, etc.) However, Gibson is not as consistent...

I have the 5150 II atop mine (2001 SLO). I hear the same - punchier and revealing. I'd say that the 5150 w the 6l6's is even closer than the 6534. But as Fuzzy notes, they can be dialed in similarly.
