Asking this question on behalf of my pal.

Which of the Diezel amps will give him a 'blank canvass' cleans channel - by that he means will be best suited for him to shape with all his stomp boxes, as he's into his Gilmour / Floyd and swaps out pedals regularly. He uses ODs/Fuzz/Modulation/Delay the whole lot!

I suggested the Schmidt, but I ain't no expert, so which amp do you recommend.

I would say the Schmidt right now for sure with an eye to the D Moll when it debuts but thats just speculation on the D Moll based on rumors I have heard.

+1 on the Schmidt

I don't know about the D-mon since peter has commented that it has early breakup

Thanks - nice to know my advice is what you are also suggesting.

My Einstein's 'clean' mode takes pedals very well. Never played a Schmidt but I'd trust the guys on here. Especially if they have played both.

Schmidt is great for pedals. I use fuzz, distortion, Overdrive- all kinds of dirt. the Schmidt takes them better than any fender I used before.

Absolutely the Schmidt or maybe even the Herb because the clean channel is so good(robust and able to stay clean without much breakup). But for Gilmour tone with pedals, why not just go for a Hiwatt or Reeves?

Why not go for a HiWatt - because he wants a Diezel and who am I to argue lol

Ah well... he dropped on a mint Einstein Head yesterday afternoon purely by chance/luck and at a great price. Having been an Einstein player not a bad choice I guess, as I was always happy with its cleans ;)

+1 on the Einstein cleans!
OCD v4, Satchurator, Wampler Pinnacle Dlx, Wampler Pinnacle Plextortion, Keeley SEM DS1 - all sound throaty and natural.
Even have the Pigtronix EP2 in front, and the vocal warble is so natural.
