Sounds great!! Love the FJA mod!
I just love my Trem-o-verb over all the other Mesa Rectifiers I've owned and played. Not sure if it is due to the tremolo and reverb in the circuit or what but it just sounds so sweet in comparison.
I've talked to Mike B at Mesa about my '94 T-verb a few...
To the OP's question. I have a R8 and LPC. I love both but I seem to pick up and play my 2005 LP Custom way more than my 2013 R8.
Just something about my Les Paul Custom (in my avatar) that I gravitate to. Maybe it's because I am more into hard rock/metal and it just sounds better, even...
I agree. I own PRS and Gibson. I really like both. Both play great. PRS is a much better build cosmetically but tonally Gibson wins almost every time for me easily. I personally choose tone and playability over perfect cosmetics which is why I almost always pick up my Gibsons when I gig...
Very cool. When you try it let me know the settings you love.
For me right now it's with the level around 1-2 o'clock, tone around 11-12 o'clock and drive barely on (maybe 1-3 on the dial of 10).
Not sure your age but everyone changes with time. Thinking Cliff would have not changed if he were still alive is not realistic. The only musicians that have not changed with age are the ones that passed way to soon, like Cliff. RIP
My guess is Cliff would have changed with time and age just like Kirk, James and Lars have. Of course it is dead horse beating since we will never know. Just remember Cliff was the least "metal" of them all. He loved melodic, bluesy, classical, etc... music way more. He would have probably...
Tube amps just have more character and life to the tone. More personal feel to the playing IMO.
Even if production model tube amps sound slightly different from model to model, Metallica's older rigs used to be all tube amps with one back up. It's not like they had 50 back up tube amps that...
Maybe so or maybe they are looking at the bottom dollar and how much it costs to ship, maintain and put on the type of production they are doing overall now instead of the tone and gear.
Those huge screens in the back ground are not cheap just like all of the other visual production costs...
That is just so he can have one regardless of where he is on stage. It's not like he is using 5 wah's at one time, lol, but the wah is what he loves and uses alot.
I personally would like to see him lay off the wah tone more but that is what he loves and regardless of that IMO Kirk has had...
I would love to have a JJ if I could find a great used one at a decent price.
I won't pay Friedmans new prices. I'm sure they are worth it new but I just can't personally justify the new prices since I don't gig live that much anymore.
I understand the change to Axe FX due to it being easier but I hate it personally. Their tube amps sound so amazing in comparison IMO. I would rather see them cut back on the big screens and show part of their concerts and go back to their tube amps tonally.
When they played Moscow...
Yeah, I agree. Making a 50 watter isn't much cheaper than making a 100 watter. Just was hoping this one might be lower priced.
I would love to see Friedman offer a 50 watt one channel amp with just the high gain HBE channel and a FX loop at a lower price point. I personally don't need all...
Hope things are ok man. I know what power loss is like, it really sucks.
In 2009 I was out of power for over a week for a wind storm and then 2 months later we had a major ice storm, which resulted in another week and a half of no power. If your power loss is only a week after Irma...
Actually hearing one might help but the specs seem very nice if it truly goes from Betty clean to vicious. I have been waiting for a really vicious Friedman in a lower wattage with the hot rodded Marshall Friedman tone, if it sounds like that. To me the Runts left me feeling meh and I was...
