I've got the SYN20IR and a Friedman JEL20. I love the Synergy as much if not more (because of the variety) as the JEL. I've had 100 watt and 50 watt heads and playing at the home volumes I use, I can't tell a difference.
Thanks! Not too much bigger than the Thiele.
Since these wide body cabs are listed as Rectifier cabs and your Mark V fits perfect on top.. how does that workout with the speaker only at 60 watts?
What's the difference in sound of the Celestion C90 and the Celestion 30 for anyone with...
That's the same one @TheGreatGreen recommended. Looks like it is between this one and the Theile.
Any idea the dimensions on these oversized cabs? I can't find them anywhere.. not even Sweetwater.
I have one Friedman 1x12 with Creamback 65s. It sounds great. I'm looking for another cab about the same size that can be used for Mesa amps. That Thiele might be the ticket. Seems it is better than the standard 1x12 Mesa cabs.
Have you ever swapped speakers in your Friedman? I can't get...
Yes, my board is bad and I'm going to replace it with a regular mono setup. Not sure how to seal that hole. I think it killed the output tubes on two of my amps before I figured out what was going on.
I've only ever played through a JCM900 Lead 1960. What's everyone's opinion on these? Sounds great to me now that I've switched out the speakers. I didn't like the 75s that were in it.
Wish I would have waited.. got mine for $220 plus tax on reverb. I hear this one sounds better than the newer one because it is less compressed and more like the originals in tone. I love mine. Nice bottom end on it.
IMO, modelers don't sound good at home in the room. They sound great through headphones and maybe sound nice loud.. but a bedroom player like me... they are perfect for headphone playing but when playing at lower volumes, by yourself at your house.. get a tube amp and cab.
I have the 20IR and I could easily switch to it completely... I will someday but I don't have to now. I love it though... I have the Uber and it is awesome. I'll be getting more soon.
I've got about 7 that I think are great.. can't figure out which is best so I play a different one every day and rotate through them all each week.
One that is a real surprise is a Fender Duo Sonic. This thing just plays great and sounds awesome. I love the neck shape on it. The stock pickup...
I've been wanting to try some EMGs since I saw a video where Zakk told of his first experience with them. This is not the same video but he is basically saying the same thing.. the original video was a better explanation though.
