Power Amp Insanity comparison video by Michael Toren.....16 different power amps

Between Mike Toren and that Huge Racks Inc guy named The GrooveKing from Hawaii, those 2 guys probably have every piece of rack or music gear ever available or made. It's too bad that none of it is ever hooked up as a complete fully functional guitar rack system. It's just piles of gear shoved...

Anderson Angel - anyone play these?

I like the Tom Anderson Angel guitars, but am not a fan of green finishes of any kind and I would have ordered a Floyd Rose tremolo bridge with the fine tuners & locking nut. Other than that, they look/sound/play great as well. I would have to go visit an Anderson dealer to try out the Angel...

Anthrax Spreading The Disease tone JCM 800

Great playing in the video. Didn't Scott Ian and Danny Spitz use a TC Electronics Sustain/Parametric EQ box before their amp heads? https://reverb.com/item/80207405-tc-electronic-sustain-parametric-equalization-1980s-black

Recommendations for a great EQ pedal for the FX loop?

I would contact XAct Tone Solutions and send in your stock Boss GE-7 EQ pedal for their midrange mod. I just got mine and it's money well spent for the mod. The midrange frequencies are useable and it's quiet.

    Sykes, Tokyo 1989, huge sound.

I bought this CD as I wanted to hear Sykes with Thin Lizzy. Great CD! Does anyone like Tygers of Pan Tang? I think "Gangland" and "Hellbound" are cool songs.

Wasn't this guitar rack sold off in England? Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Buffer pedals. You NEED one.

I'm currently using the Fryette Valvulator I tube buffer/power supply on my small pedal board. I run my guitar>Fryette tube buffer/power supply>Boss MS effects processor input>MS3 Loop 3 send>amp input>amp send>MS3 Loop 3 return>MS 3 mono output>amp return. I noticed that the specs of the Boss...

Hey cragginshrd, The Legendary Tones Mr. Scary module sounds killer in your amp from the video! I'm happy to see you get a nice crunchy guitar tone that sounds good to you. I have the Hot Mod EVOV2 installed on my Stiff 90-AD amp head and can understand & appreciate the extra gain and...

    NAD: Marshall 6100 LE

Or cut vent holes into the top of the combo cabinet and install Marshall style vent covers like the amp heads? It would ruin the value of the combo cab, but there would be ventilation besides using a fan on it. Just don't put your beverages on top of the combo amp.

    NAD: Marshall 6100 LE

Unfortunately, my 6101 combo amp does get hot to the point where it made the channel switching function malfunction and it reverted to Ch.1. I had to bring it to the amp repair shop and get the MIDI channel switching board repaired. After that repair, it had no issues after that. The 6101 also...

    NAD: Marshall 6100 LE

Great score on your Marshall 6100LE! I have a 1992 blue vinyl Marshall 6101 1x12 combo amp & matching 1912 1x12 closed back cab and am the original owner. The 3 way switch that you're referring to is called the damping select switch that's located on the rear of the amp. I leave mine set on...

    1U Rackmount Power Amps

When the HRI website was still up, there used to be a forum member named GrooveKing who had not only guitar rack gear, but also amp heads, combo amps, and cabinets. His home looked like a music store from the pictures that were posted. I used to own the Mesa Boogie 20/20 power amp. It was...

    Noiseless P90’s

The Fret King Corona GW guitar that I bought last year has a Prizefighter bridge humbucker, Dallas single coil, and a Soapstack P-90 neck pickup which are all made by Wilkinson. The Soapstack P-90 neck pickup is quiet when I hit it with high gain.
