Boogie Mark IV and Mark 3 ...

I had a simulclass Mark III red stripe and Mark IVb at the same time. I wish I could’ve kept them both. I kept the Mark III because it just sounded a touch bolder. Also the Mark IV had a midrange tone that sounded great when I wanted it, but couldn’t dial it out if I didn’t.

    Dimarzio 50th Anniversary

Dimarzio’s double-cream patent is like a bald guy with long hair. Give it up already.

    Friedman Vintage Plexi

I love the idea of adding a bright switch to the normal channel.

    Friedman Vintage Plexi

Exactly. With load box and amp switcher options, it's actually the best time to own NMV and classic circuit designs with no loops.

Diezel VH Mini at NAMM 2024

I hope thay have an actual reactive loadbox in there. Not just IRs with power amp sim.

New preamp incoming: Mesa Boogie Rectifier Recording

Since it came out ~2002 and has a Raw mode, I’d imagine it’s based off the regular 3 channel Dual Rec . Plus Mesa said it got the Fat and Brit modes from the Road King.

Victory amps, do we like them?

Maybe it’s just the demos I’ve heard, but they all sounded darker/thicker than I was going for.

Diezel VH Mini at NAMM 2024

It’s almost a guarantee that there is an IR feature. 6 LEDs in that row. 2 for channels, 4 for IRs. Just like the Synergy lunchbox amp that’s at NAMM. Ok, that has 1 more, cuz 3 channels.

    Prepare yourselves

Don’t mind IRs. Don’t like power amp sim.

    Prepare yourselves

There is. It’s Friedman’s IR-X tech in there, which has power amp sim of some sort. I’m expecting something similar from Synergy’s preamp system this year as well, since it’s also connected to Friedman.

Mesa rackmount amps: Mark III ; Dual Rectifier (CT/NY/NJ/MA)

I think I’ll need to consider that. Don’t seem to live close enough to where the interest is.

If you think “It can’t be the cable” ... it’s the cable

I don’t know how many times I’ll have to realize that I didn’t learn this lesson the last time. Have a MIDI cable for my foot controller, a quality one made by BTPA, that is providing phantom power just fine. But my controller commands stopped registering. Went through confirming MIDI channels...

    I think I want a Synergy Rig

I’m on Round 2 with Synergy. I had a SYN-2 when it first came out. Tried a few modules that were released with it: T/DLX, Metroplex, DS, and had an older modded-MTS module as well. Loved the idea, but didn’t come away super impressed. So I sold all that, moved onto other dedicated preamps, and...

Bogner Goldfinger SL and Friedman Smallbox thoughts?

Yeah, there are a number of controls on it. Loop Gain on the back, along with a line level switch, and then a PostFX control on the front. Heh, it'd take a little time to gain stage that with a preamp system. You mentioned just getting a SYN-50. I actually hadn't thought of that. But I'd like...

Bogner Goldfinger SL and Friedman Smallbox thoughts?

My plan would be to run a Synergy SYN in the loop to add two additional preamps. Hopefully the PostFX loop setting is compatible with that. It's got a series / parallel switch too, so I'd imagine it does.

Bogner Goldfinger SL and Friedman Smallbox thoughts?

@Bxlxaxkxe Did you ever have the GF SL a the same time as the Badlander? Were they even comparable?

    New Slash Signature Magnatone

Their news release page just says this: Not 100% sure what they’re trying to say actually. Did they forget a word or something?
