I got in line early when they announced the original was coming out and received one of the first 100. I will say the unit is incredible, sounds great, and the effects are just amazing! That does sound very expensive. I had to sell mine but when I can afford one I will be buying another.

They’re $100 more than when they were first listed, but I know they raised all their prices last year, so I’m not sure if this is because the actual new chip or just the price hike from last year.
It should be noted; they only did this to get around the chip shortage. 10% isn’t really shit in the context of these things. The AxeFX III Turbo has 25% more juice. I’m not even sure they were planning on an FM9 Turbo at all, but when faced with no chips at all, this was the only option to get units moving again. At most, this will allow a user to put an extra block or two into a signal chain, depending on the signal chain. This won’t effect the FW or tones or anything like that.
I can’t believe these things are selling for as high as they are, there’s two on Reverb for $2600/2800. I’m half tempted to sell mine, put a grand in the bank and just buy another when they’re shipping steadily again. I just don’t want to take the risk of not having it because it’s such a killer fucking unit.

Yea, you guys get screwed over there. Same with Australia but I think they get screwed with anything imported. I'm surprised they haven't figured out how to resolve that issue over there. I know G66 is the only distributor and they mark it up, but I don't know how much they mark it up and why the hell it's so expensive. That's what I got my AxeFX III for.
