there are more wasteful hobbies in the world. You could be chucking $250/round into golf...thats 10 rounds of golf or an amp that you can play till your dead. Its an easy purchase and not even that much money. do it. play it. love it. smash it.

You must not be a golfer, lol.

Not near as much as a lot of guys. About $7500 with a new Kiesel Aries 6 string order going in Friday for another $1400:D

I know guys that spend $200-$400 a week on Booze and drugs, so I don't feel bad at all spending coin on guitar gear several times a year.

I've probably got around $20,000 in gear at the moment. I could sell most everything and purchase my dream car (which I will own one day) but would rather have all my guitars.

I also just bought my first house so my days of expensive gear purchases are over for a while. All money is going into things for the house.

My dream car is a 1993 Ford Cobra in red.

Too much for as little time I get to actually use it.

OP I have that much tied up just in guitars- and I only have 4 of them. If you think about it too much you will realize just how fucking stupid it is... but it is fun in the end.

My biggest fear is that, if anything ever happens to me, my wife will sell all my gear for what I told her I paid for it

Hahah funny thread. I just bought a $5,500 Friedman Butterslax stack. Fucking blows every amp I've ever played or heard out of the water. Loudest, thumpiest, grindiest.
Never would have considered it a few years back. Now I'm 30, fuck it, why play shitty gear. If I'm going to put this much time into something. I'm gonna sound fucking METAL, whether it's
Good or not.
Back to the Friedman stack. Its almost as good as sex, I've got a hot wife, once I get that volume to 4 or so.
Totally worth it, and I don't think twice about it. If it makes you happy, that's what life is about!!!

Oh yeah, then I just got a custom run of a left handed ESP. That guitar makes me want to buy more.
I love this addiction

I'm in the same boat as the OP, and I say go for it, especially if it's used & priced well. There are very few hobbies where you can sell your (good quality) gear if you need to & get most of your money back. When you buy (smart) used you can often get almost all your money back. Most hobbies that money is g-g-gone. Only hobby I've ever had with a better return rate than this is guns.

I just did some quick figuring ... I knew it was a lot , but wow..

Guess I already have the kids college fund taken care of.

Way more than I care to admit yet at the same time not nearly enough.

Not enough, but I'm happy with the stuff I've bought in the last 2 years. Quality over quantity.

-it's always more than you think, Peep's will just count the big $$$ items, all them little things add up!!!

-who hear among us has a N.O.S. or even new tube stash? Quality guitar & speaker cords, junk drawer full of pup's, guitar hardware, speaker stash<---I'm-SG GUY-and-im-a-speaker-hoarder----<<<<

I have plenty. Next on the list is an AX8 followed by a P24, and then probably a P245...
