Sounds good to be but can't be sure as I've never used two amps. I just know the basic where with 1 amp using 2 cabs the ohms will be cut in half like you have it. Eg, two 16 ohm cabs = 8 ohm load.

Should get the same results but more of a bump for you as I'm curious and don't want you doing the wrong thing with the amps :/. I think it would be ok tho.

You have no ohm splitting here because there is not multiple speaker enclosures on a single amp. Run it exactly the way that you described. But, in my experience when you run a 16ohm cab load into an 8 ohm amp jack the results are lost bass and definition.

Thanks for the input. I experienced some loss of definition as well, but the sound is pretty massive. I've noticed that the amps run pretty hot like this. I'll eventually get another cab, but for now I'm going to run them separately.
Why would they run any hotter than normal? All you are doing is running 2 heads into 2 2x12 cabs.

Couldn't tell you. Not sure if the mismatched load has anything to do with it. Only other thing I can think of is that I was playing louder than normal.

It's not a mismatched load.
